    name: Clara
    gender: heifer
collar color: Same as her eyes!

    backstory: [ max of 800 words ]
Clara grew up on a peaceful farm. She always kept a special place in her heart for insects and birds. Weird combination of interests she knows! When she was very little, she always would run up to her mother and say, "Momma momma! I saw a caterpillar on a leaf!" or, "Mommy there's a bird on the fence! Look look!'' Her mother always laughed and encouraged Clara to look at what else she could see and find! This love of birds and insects continued to grow in her life. Another one of Clara’s favorite things growing up, was attending barn meetings. A barn meeting was when all the local buttermilks from different barns would meet and hang out. At most of the barn meetings, Clara got the chance to meet with her friends, and they always played games. Clara always loved to play games with her friends, so whenever she could she would suggest that to be what they would do. One time when she and her friends were playing hide and go seek, Clara was the seeker. She counted to 20, then quickly rushed in the direction she had heard hoof steps. She looked around at all the good hiding spots, but she didn't find any of her friends. Clara kept looking, but after a while was left stumped when she couldn't find any of her friends. She decided to head back to where she began looking. When she got there, she noticed that there were several hay bales that she hadn't seen before. Suddenly, as she walked closer, her friends jumped out from behind the hay, causing Clara to fall back in shock! "AHH!" she screamed. Her screams turned to laughter when she recognized who had jumped out! Laughing and joking over the incident, they all went back to join the other buttermilks. That memory has always been one of her favorite memories growing up, because for some reason she can always look back and laugh over the fact that she got so scared when her friends jumped out. Over the years Clara made many more memorable moments, but that is one of her favorites. As she grew older, Clara always spent time exploring, looking for bugs/insects, and spending time with her mom as much as she could. Clara always dreamed of discovering a new insect and naming it "Mary's Bug", after her mother. One of her other favorite memories involves beetles and a blue jay. Clara remembers that one day she went out to the meadow to look for a hawk that she had seen fly over there. Clara was walking through the meadow when suddenly she saw the hawk, or what she thought was a hawk. As she got closer, she saw that this "hawk" looked kind of blue and strange for a hawk. When she was close enough, she realized it wasn't a hawk, it was a blue jay! She saw that the blue jay appeared to be hopping around, pecking at something. Clara wondered what was disturbing the bird, but it didn't take her long to figure out what it was. Clara suddenly felt something scratching her foot. She looked down, and saw a massive number of stink beetles! Clara jumped back out of shock, and began to run away from the beetles. As she got farther away, she saw that the blue jay was flying away. Clara stopped to watch the blue jay fly off, and was just in awe at its graceful flying. She forgot about the beetles, and just lived in that moment. Clara remembers it as a funny incident involving two of her favorite things. But one of the most important moments of her life, is her least favorite memory in her life. When Clara was a bit older, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. When her mother seemed to be getting better and the treatment appeared to be working, things took a turn for the worse. Clara was there in the final moments of her mother’s life. But she knew that although her mother was gone, the memories were still alive and that she would never forget what her mother taught her. This changed Clara, but somethings remained the same in her life. She valued her family and friendships, and she stayed passionate about learning of birds and bugs. She learned to value what you have, and never forget those you lose.

name: Kharza
gender: heifer
collar color: eye color

backstory: Kharza grew up in the city, you've heard me right. She was a gift from Kelsey's mother's farm, and of course was given to Kelsey herself. The only problem was... Kelsey needed to go to college in the city and her mother had unfortunately passed, forcing her to figure out a way to get Kharza into the city. Being a poor college student she was, she couldn't take care of her inheritance (of the farm)… and also needed a job. So, the farm was given to her brother to run while she was away and she was able to get a job at a local Moobucks. Kelsey had no idea what to do with Kharza, as she couldn't be left alone in the backyard of their small home. So, she took the risk and brought Kharza to Moobucks on her first day there. Surprisingly, the company loved her, and hired both Kelsey and Kharza! While Kelsey is in class, the company takes care of Kharza, and eventually makes her the mascot. As well as this, they find she's surprisingly good at making coffee!

name: Macchiato
gender: heifer
collar color: Plum purple

backstory:

Macchiato was raised on a small family owned ranch in the foothills of Colorado. From the moment she was brought to the ranch, she was treated with the kindness and love she so deserved. Macchiato came from humble beginnings; she was born in a small barn, owned by a two broke ranchers. It was difficult finding food, and shelter from the rain. The barn leaked profusely when it rained, and it led to Macchiato being very sickly for most of her calf days. After filing for bankruptcy, Macchiato and the other animals that lived on the property were put up for auction, and she was immediately sold to a sweet couple who moved her to Colorado to live on their homestead.

Nothing lasts forever, sadly. The couple was much older, their children already off to start their own American Dreams. The wife had passed away a few years later due to health complications, leading the new widower to sell his farm to cover the remaining medical and funeral costs. Machiato became very cold, almost unapproachable- how many times would she have to leave? How many homes must she lose until she finds one she can call her own forever? Losing all hope, she became distant, unable to feel, desensitized to almost all emotion. However, deep inside the recesses of her heart, she couldn't help but dream to find a place to live without the fear of losing it all.
