Anyone who's met Conley will tell you that he's a cheerful, jovial guy, ready to help out at any time. He takes his business seriously and his clients' happiness even more seriously, always prepared to change things to fit their needs. No matter the challenge, he's always willing to give it a go (even when they requested, in their words, "the biggest sword you could possibly make"). He loves chatting with clients and neighbors alike and always keeps a secret stash of candy for the neighborhood children.

Anyone who's met Conley will tell you that he's incredibly hardworking, often staying at his forge long into the night, the telltale sound of hammer on steel ringing through the shop. He's the only blacksmith of his caliber in the entire city and thus gets quite a lot of business, from chefs needing knives sharpened to guards looking to get their armor and weapons forged. Even his assistants are often awed by his workaholic attitude; he never requires them to stay late but frequently does so himself, determined to keep his turnaround times short and his clients content.

Anyone who's met Conley will tell you that he's deeply passionate. He can talk about alloys and scabbards all day if you let him go on. Able to tell an ingot apart from another at a touch, Conley takes pride in his skill and is happy to share it with anyone who's interested. Even those who know absolutely nothing about smithing are often content to let him chatter to them about the day's businesses and the new projects that he was working on, his passion bringing real fire to his words.

But not everyone who's met Conley would know that underneath his cheerful and happy exterior, his passion boils over into rebellion. He's seen firsthand the injustices that exist in the kingdom of Raevannis, the citizens cast into the streets simply because their magic is unlike everyone else's. He's helped a few take refuges in his shop for short periods of time, but wishes that he could do more to aid them. The neighbors would never think that Conley could do anything untoward, allowing him the ability to shelter those who needed it at the time.

Not everyone who's met Conley would know that that he sometimes finds himself in the basement of The Spectres, the smell of metal and smoke clinging to his fur. He's worked on supplying the rebellion with weapons from the beginning and now finds himself involved in their discussions of revolution. That ever-working hammer, swinging long into the night, forges not only armor and weapons for the elite, but for The Spectres as well. Conley wouldn't find himself as a fighter on the frontline, but he contributes his skills in the only way that he knows how.

Not everyone who's met Conley would describe him as a revolutionary, but the spark is in his eye, his hammer in his hand, and the song of freedom in his heart. The kingdom is ready for a paradigm shift, and Conley wants to be there for it. [ 514 / 1000 ]
