Personality: Extroverted and a strong believer in what's right, Angel has no problem being outspoken and quite the social butterfly. She flits from one group to the next, chatting and laughing up a storm. She seems to fit right in no matter where she is or who she's with. She gives off a confident, strong vibe which seems to draw people right in. You could call her popular, I suppose, but that's really not the case. She talks to everyone, but really she only has a handful of actual friends.
Angel's a dancer, she has been since she was 4. On top of dancing, she loves to sing and has a beautiful voice, and she dreams to one day be an actress. She's been in every high school play and musical since her freshman year, and she's loved every second of it. She knows every word to every song it seems, and she can recite every word to any movie backwards and forwards. She practically lives at the movie theater, and is always up to date on the latest films.
Angel makes a point to be as inclusive as possible. She knows what it's like to be the outsider, she actually wasn't always so outgoing. In grade school, she was bullied relentlessly. She's been called weird, and she doesn't think anybody ever deserves to feel bad for being themselves. She always does her best to include everyone, even if it's that one weird kid sitting in the corner.
Despite Angel's positive, outgoing attitude, she is riddled with self doubt. She hates herself more than anybody could ever know, and she hides it under layers of faux confidence. She feels like she's never good enough, she's afraid that no matter what she says or does, she'll never be enough. She grew up in a household with high expectations that she could never meet, and that led to fear and hatred. She grew up being told she'll never be as good as her sister, and she quickly grew to believe it.
Angel struggles with anger, she gets very angry very quickly and will often lash out. She later realizes it but she can't bring herself to apologize most of the time, but she feels awful about it every time. She's done her best to bring it to a more manageable level, and she's even explained her difficulties to her friends, who take it well and are incredibly supportive of her.
Angel is a sweet girl with a lot of potential, but she has some things holding her back. She has big dreams, and hopes to someday achieve them all.
Relationships:Rue - Best friend
Rue (also a junior) and Angel haven't been friends as long as it seems they have. They know each other sometimes better than they know themselves, and they're about as close as you can get. It doesn't take a genius to see that they really have something special between them, and their friendship is one that could last a lifetime. Having been friends for only about a year and a half, the two friends never have nothing to talk about. They understand each other, and they both struggle with self doubt. They're really strong supports for each other, and they have no problem with walking downtown after school to grab something to eat, or sometimes even skipping class to go to McDonald's.Callum - Best guy friend
Callum and Angel go way back, all the way to grade school. They've been through everything together, it seems, and they're inseparable. Callum is like a big brother to her, he takes care of her and he protects her. He likes to mess with her, but nobody else can. He and Angel hang out really every day that she and Rue aren't. Whether it's driving down to the theater to see the newest movie or sitting at the top of the parking ramp to have a serious conversation, it's always an adventure and they're always ready for whatever odd things life has to throw at them. They have loads of funny stories, and they like to sit up at night sometimes just laughing at all the old memories.Natalie - The mom she never had
Angel grew up mostly taking care of herself, and she grew quite used to it really. She had come to terms with it. That is, until she met Rue's mom, Natalie. Natalie took her in as her own almost, inviting her over often, making food for her, always hugging her goodbye after school. Angel started to realize what she'd been missing, and she started to consider Natalie the mom she never had. Natalie adores her, and Angel feels the same towards her.Kennedy - Friend/crush
Kenny and Angel met on vacation over the summer of her sophomore year. Angel and her family went out to California, where they spent a few weeks, and over the course of that trip, she met and fell for this sweet, slightly awkward boy. She saw right through his act, and instantly knew he wasn't one of those Cali surfer guys everyone fantasizes about. She saw his true quirky, nerdy personality, and she got to know him quite well. She learned about his love for sailing and fishing, and she even went fishing with him once or twice! He also confessed to his love for drawing and painting, and she thought it was the sweetest thing. They still keep in contact over the phone, and Angel plans to return to California next summer to visit him again.Gwen - Friend
Gwen and Angel haven't been friends long, only a few months, but they got along right away. Gwen is a foreign exchange student from Germany, and Angel was her first friend. Gwen being fairly clueless and vulnerable, Angel took her under her wing. She grew very fond of Gwen, she loved her overall very aesthetic personality, and her sweet German accent always made her smile. They have very similar personalities, and they love to walk to Biggby or Starbucks and spend a couple hours doing homework and drinking coffee.Astrid - Old friend
Astrid was a senior when Angel was a freshman. Astrid was someone she looked up to, and loved every second she spent with her. Angel was Astrid's little companion. Astrid graduated and moved across the country to go to school to become a pilot, and Angel was sad to see her go. Their relationship is maintained 90% through phone calls and texts, and occasionally Astrid will stop by for a visit on one of her long trips.
