keakota ⧉ #179

Postby Inkeyu » Thu Dec 20, 2018 2:42 am

username: birch.
name: Aspen
height: 14.0
sex: kea
age: 5 years
color: Blue Fade
markings: extended mask, shadow top, dark points, inverted shadows, winter mask, roan, leopard, horizon
marking geno: ss // em // TˢT // DP // is // Ms // Iw // wm // Pb // Rg // rrᵃ // la // HH // St
why love the Rocky Mountains?:

Aspen loves many things about the mountains: The crisp air, the babbling creeks that flow down from the snow melt or underground sources, the sweet songs of the birds around her. But the number one thing she loves the most is all the elk that share the space she adores.

Their antics fascinate her and how the bulls bugle at such a range that it is nearly bone chilling, yet it is a beautiful song. The bulls antlers reminded Aspen of tree branches, thick bases with spikes coming our tipped in white from their constant rubbing upon small trees. The young elk would have to be her favorite, with their cute little faces and ears so large they almost seem to not fit upon their delicate heads. She often watches as they play with one another, young bulls sparing playfully as they have seen many older bulls do for the attention of the cows.

Their colors are a tender palate that matches their surroundings: Dark browns lining their underbelly and legs meeting with their neck, similar to her own kind's markings in a way, their sides brushed with a soft tan with an underlying grey tinge to their underfur, and those big brown eyes. She often finds herself studying these creatures and their ways, following the herds as they move from the high grounds to the valleys during the day then back into the mountain cover at nightfall. She figured it was for protection yet she would never know if it was simply instinct or just a routine they followed to stay cool. Aspen will always adore elk, young and old, and they will continue to fascinate her until her time ends upon this earth.
