Cat Name: Echostream
Gender: Tom
Age: 23 Moons
Clan: SlateclanRank: Warrior (Future Medcat)
Prompt: He's hearing voices inside his head, that never seem to fully crease.
Since kithood, Echostream was never completely normal, unlike his den mates. He was an only kit, the last of 3. Both his sister and brother were stillborn. He was born weak with deficient breathing, his parents believed he would never catch a breath as they licked the tiny ball of fur excessively, roughing up his pelt against the grain for minutes that seemed like hours. Everything was silent as despair filled the nursery until a small mewled cry sounded and delight seeped into the couple's hearts.
It started early on, his unique and paranormal ability. At one time a blessing, but most often than not, a curse. The tom was hearing voices, at first Echostream believed he was only thinking loudly, but it quickly turned out to be wrong as they made no sense, didn't line up with his thoughts. After that, his parents figured he was having imaginary friends, in the end, he did lose his siblings which they told him. The young cat talked with them occasionally, catching weird glances from the other kitten.
Echostream lost his father just four months after his birth, dying outside of camp. His mother was devastated at the loss, although the tom-cat tried to cheer her up, the generally sickly molly's illness just grew in strength as she started to let herself down. Unfortunately, the feline didn't last too long and slowly deprived of energy, finally joining her mate in starclan at their son's age of 7 moons. After losing both his parents, the voices increased, turning loud and obnoxious. Which used to seem fun, became annoying.
Voices of mollies and toms, mixing and mingling in his head, overlapping in a jumbled mess of sounds.
Mewing, yowling, screaming, whispering, arguing, laughing... Telling him what to do and what not, fighting and influencing him. From nervous and panicked noises to forceful and malicious orders, insane and dreadful inquiries.
Everything was present, they used to be at the back of his mind, staying hidden and lingering there, only a murmur audible at times. But now, now they pushed forward to the front, making it hard to even hear his own thoughts and stay focused on long conversations.
Echostream's world turned upside down at that moment, he never has been a social cat and never truthfully enjoyed socializing too much, but starting from there he almost was a loner. He didn't really have any friends, besides the voices he used to believe were his buddies. Though not anymore. Now, he was just the weird cat, that talked to himself.
In fact, the tom didn't. He was arguing or screamig at the voices once they became overwhelming and too powerful, having to shut them up. They never leave, always accompanying him wherever he goes.
