Her parents didn't believe the old witch and had Bonswa. They abandoned her after realizing their mistake and were never seen again. The same witch that cursed Bonswa took the child into her care. Bonswa doesn't blame the witch and is actually very grateful for the woman who taught her everything she needed to know about magic.
