Znajaciel found out what her spirit guide would be early on in her life. It had come to
her in a dream - an eagle, it's wingspan so large that it covered the sun when it flew by.
It swooped and ducked closer and closer to her, and when it was low enough to land upon her
back, she felt the predator tap his talon to her head. A warm glow began to shine from her
temple, and when she awoke, she was heralded as the Sun Chief - Natosi-Znajaciel.

A golden eagle was painted upon her chest, and her tribe-mates would sing if an eagle was seen
above them during a hunt. Her spirit guide was nearly worshipped, a symbol of the Sun Chief
made manifest. Because of the halo that hung above her head and the eagle that guided her, her
tribe began to treat her more as royalty than the wise woman she had once wished to be.

One night, Znajaciel found herself in another dream, her spirit guide blocking out the sun again.
She could only see by the light of her halo, and she could only hear the beating of the eagle's wings.
She followed the sound until it was nothing but a faint echo within her mind. Within her dream,
she felt cold, but comforted somehow. She felt tired, as if she had traveled a long way, though she
knew she was laying comfortably in her nest in her physical form. When she awoke this time, she
looked for the eagle, hoping that it would be more clear in it's message.

She gained her wish. That afternoon, during another hunt, the eagle appeared, flying over her
group - cheers ensued - and then disappeared, heading towards the rising mountain peaks in the
north. Delighted by her quest, Znajaciel explained to her people what she had to do. She was
going to travel to wherever the eagle landed, and she was going to learn what it truly meant to
be a leader, rather than a figurehead.

Her tribe-mates begged her to stay, but Znajaciel had made up her mind, and within the next
sunrise, she had left to follow her guide towards what she believed would be a quest for knowledge
and experience.

To those she lead, the eagle was not simply Znajaciel's spirit guide, but a projection of herself. The
eagle symbolized Znajaciel's wisdom and her ability to lead, reluctant as she is to do so. Znajaciel's
halo connected to the sun, so it was only practical that her guide was a creature that seemed to touch
the sun every day. Znajaciel's tribe has long since chosen a new chief, but during large ceremonies,
they still present those they celebrate with a staff carved of cedar wood and decorated with the tail
feathers of a golden eagle. If Znajaciel were ever to return, she would be presented with the staff
and asked to take on the role of eagle-woman, a wise woman within the tribe.
