Accepted, she's yours.
Please forgive the more white amount than her trailer would show, there was an issue with her that had to be fixed. :oops:

Kura’s Tasks One

Postby Spiritstar3 » Tue Aug 07, 2018 9:26 am

it’s fine. i like what i can see beneath the dirt, so far))

Task 1 - Unloading;
Share a story in the unloading from the trailer
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

Kura squealed and kicked from in the trailer, worrying me a bit. She was either a really feisty Grel, or just nervous and scared right now. No way of telling at the moment, really. Shaking my head, I asked for help once more and, once the trailer was opened, entered. I spoke to Kura as I approached, noticing her jump when I touched her. I backed her from the trailer, which this time was in the entrance of the barn, and she turned and ran. Luckily, she went right into the empty stall prepared for her, likely finding it to feel safe.

Task 2 - Taming;
Share a story in how you started taming, to be able to gain a bit of trust
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

The mare squealed and fidgeted nervously, eying me as I approached. I shook my head, speaking as I walked near her, then continued to walk. I hoped she’d be like Kanna, curious of what I was doing, because she might just be too flighty for any other method...Turns out she was pretty curious, as she squealed and started tromping after me, swinging her twin tails. She squealed a second time, stepping up the pace, and finally bumped my back. She tugged on my shirt, as if wanting me to turn around, so I did. She stared at me a moment, then allowed me to touch her, no shudders or flinches to be had.

Task 3 - Introduce to a herd;
Introduce the Grelifcent to your/one of your herds.
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

I introduced her to everyone, though the As seemed to stick to their group of three, while Kanna, Pumkin, and Kiya chose to stick together. Amrik pranced about again as usual, squealing and snorting, then stood near me. Anya and Arwen scented and studied her, but were quick to move off for Kanna and Pumkin. The two scented and studied as well, then stepped back for Kiya to have her turn. Kiya was soon nudging and grooming Kura, and seemed she’d been accepted into that group.

Task 4 - Brush;
Gain the trust to be able to brush the Grelifcent.
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

I spoke to Kura as I allowed her to scent and study each brush, then touched each one to her, one at a time, so she could see what each one would feel like. I began brushing and combing her out, slowly at first and always gentle. She squealed at first, stamping, but soon she’d gotten used to it, and I let out a relieved sound. Once all the visible dirt and mud was gone, I did another once over, seeing it was all gone, aside from what needed washed off now.

Task 5 - Bathe;
Gain the trust to be able to bath the Grelifcent.
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

I hummed as I brought Kura out of the stall which was now her place, watching her ears flick at the sound coming from me. I led her to where she could be washed off, letting her see, scent, and touch the hose. I touched it to her next, running it along her body, then moved it away and turned it on. She squealed, stamping, but soon seemed interested and reached out with maw open. I let her play a moment, then began bathing her. This got a few squeals, but soon she’d settled, and not much later she was clean and drying in the sun.

Task 6 - Fully Tamed;
Share a story in how you connected with the Grelifcent
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

I hummed as I moved around the barn, checking if anything needed dusting or I’d missed something which needed cleaning. It didn’t seem like it, so I walked towards the doors, and out to the pasture. I heard Kura’s squeals and cries immediately, and there she was, running up along the fenceline. I chuckled, leaning my head on my hands, elbows on the fenceline. She stared at me, right into my eyes a long while, then squealed and reached out. I placed my hands on her face, kissing her bony nose, and she let me, causing me to smile.

Kura’s tasks Two

Postby Spiritstar3 » Wed Aug 08, 2018 9:25 am

Task 7 - Started Training;
Share a story on starting training. Getting used to a halter and leading.
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

Kura squealed and whinnied as I approached, seeming to wonder what I had for her next. I chuckled softly, shaking my head gently, then hummed softly as I held up the halter. She snorted, touching it, seeming to already trust it a bit, as I’d had to use it a few times, in making sure she’d not flee in the beginning. I slipped it on, buckling it, then let her eye and scent the rope. I hooked it on the halter ring, gently tugging until she began to walk. Soon, she was following me as needed, and I started talking more, to keep her going.

Task 8 - Ground Work;
Share a story on doing ground work with the Grelifcent.
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

I led Kura out into the dirt ring, the indoor one which was more of a square then a circle, really. She squealed and kicked her heels up, seeming eager to learn more, to do the next thing. I started out by leading her back and forth first, simple enough, then along the edge of the ring. I then tried getting her to walk around me, which she seemed to get rather quick. I wanted to try figure eights, but decided against it, and continued the circles, then decided to give her a rest for the day, knowing she must have had enough by now.

Task 9 - Train to Ride;
Share a story on doing training the Grelifcent for riding.
(Art or 50-100 Word Story)

I first placed the bridle on, allowing her to get used to that, then placed the saddle blanket on, which she didn’t seem to mind so much. However, when I put the saddle on...of course she began to buck, as any yet-non-rideable young equine would. She’d never had anything set on her back before, and didn’t like it. Soon enough, however, she had to stop doing that, as she got too tired to. I had her circle for awhile, then climbed in the saddle. She couldn’t buck anymore, so she let me stay there. I hummed as I walked her around the ring awhile, then called. it a day, as she’d done good.

Companion added!
Somehow this girly made friends with a little pastel ferret - I wonder how did it even end up in the wild? :shock:

Companionship

Postby Spiritstar3 » Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:11 pm

(i love it!)

Companion Task - Companion Task Purchased
Write a story of riding the Grelifcent, out to search for the Companion,
and gaining it's trust with the Grelifcent at your side.
(Art of Grelifcent and Companion or 200-250 Word Story)

Kura snorted as I placed the saddle blanket on, shifting from hoof to hoof and shaking her head back and forth a few times. She squealed, moving in place, then seemed to calm down, finally settling and making it easier for me again. I placed the saddle on, checking and tightening it a bit, so it wouldn’t slide or jiggle, then moved on to the bridle, before getting on the lovely black and white creature, and began to ride. We went around back, down into the woods, intent on reaching the river that was down there. I wasn’t worried one bit, with her there with me. I was looking ahead, watching for low hanging branches, when she suddenly stopped, snorting...

I sighed as I slid from her back, knowing I’d not get her to move now, as she didn’t want to. Shaking my head, I paused myself when I heard what seemed a squeak, or close enough, from the nearby bushes...I approached slowly, cautious, though I needn’t be as it sounded like a mouse or such. When we looked into the bushes, Kura and I, we discovered there a small ferret, pastel in color, definitely a house-pet...So why was it out here? I shrugged, shaking my head, and crouched down to seem smaller. The creature was definitely tame, that’s for sure, but still seemed a bit wary of me, even so. It, he, came a bit closer, when I laid a hand to sniff, but wouldn’t come closer than that.

I let out a quiet sigh, shaking my head, then tilted my head when Kura stretched her neck towards the ferret. He squeaked, almost moving back, but surprisingly did not. They stared at each other awhile, then he raised up on hind legs to nuzzle her muzzle. I was amazed, and I held my hand out again. He seemed to remember what it was like to live with humans, for he allowed me to lift him up. I placed him on the saddle close in front of me, and we returned home.
