Task 1 - Unloading;
Share a story in the unloading from the trailer
(50-100 Word Story)
I woke up early that day and couldn't get back to sleep. I had no idea what to expect from a Feral Grelificent. After all, some of the "tame" ones were a handful. I sipped hot tea while sitting on the veranda, watching for the trailer to arrive. At last, a cloud of dust rose from up the lane and moved past the house, stopping by the open corral gate. The man from the agency set up the ramp and waited for me to claim my prize. The mare was nervously shuffling around so I untied her and allowed her room to back out.
Task 2 - Taming;
Share a story in how you started taming, to be able to gain a bit of trust
(50-100 Word Story)
I gave Calli a few days to get use to the sights and sounds of her new home but didn't want to have her just vanish into the hills so I kept her in the paddock nearest the house. Every day I spent as much time as possible, doing chores or just having lunch as close as I could. When she stopped hiding in the shadows and started watching me instead, I started talking to her as well. Soon she was nearly within arms reach. Now for the next step.
Task 3 - Introduce to a herd;
Introduce the Grelifcent to your/one of your herds.
(50-100 Word Story)
After a few weeks I was able to halter her and lead her to see some of my other Grels. Verdi and NutKao trotted over and sniffed the air. I guess all that mud had to be confusing her scent. Once Matt came over and introduced himself with no incident, I knew it was okay to turn her lose. He's the boss and would keep her safe.
Task 4 - Fully Tamed;
Share a story in how you connected with the Grelifcent
(50-100 Word Story)
Watching my Grels run one day, I counted the colors that went by. Green, chestnut, grey, mud.....wait. Looks like Calli hadn't managed to get clean yet. I got a bucket of water, a rope and a sponge. Tethering her to a tree, I carefully gave her a good rubdown.
