~~ Task 1- Unloading ~~

After taking care of Grelifcent's for a good period of time I figured I'd take in a feral Grel. Of course things would be different from an already tamed Grelifcent but I should be up for the task, right? Upon the arrival of the trailer I could feel my heart race, "This is it, my first feral Grelifcent!".

I could hear the Grel in the trailer, calming myself I tell the driver to back to a pen I had prepared the day before. Making sure everything was ready we unlatched the trailer door...

A beautiful Mare, but what should I call her? As I watch her for a moment it hits me, Arcania, a name meaning enlightenment. As the day comes to a close I can't help but smile, I can't believe she's mine!

~~ Task 2 - Taming

I allowed Arcania to settle down for the first couple days while letting her know of my presence. Everyday throwing an apple slice over to her. As the days pasted I threw the slices closer to where I was standing. She seemed to sense I wasn't a threat to her and began to come closer to me.

Today it finally happened! After all the time talking to her and building her trust she finally trusted me enough to take one from my palm!

~~ Task 3 - Introduction to Herd ~~

My minds racing as I gently lead Macha over to meet Arcania. I'm hoping Macha will approve of her but my mind is thinking thw worst...

As Macha approaches the pen she becomes more allert, Arcania appearing nervous. I allow them to greet keeping close attention to their body language. It becomes clear with a playful whinny and some friendly grooming that I realize she has been accepted. My mind is at peace.

~~ Task 4 - Fully Tamed ~~

As I'm doing my daily chores in the field making sure to change the water in the troughes I feel a gentle nudge. As I turn around there is a whinny and sure enough it's her. I give her a gentle pet and an apple slice. It's amazing to see how far we've come, from her being fresh from the wild scared and unsure. To this happy go lucky mare with an abundant amount of energy!
