RVEC #315 - Bay Belgian Warmblood

Postby SydneyandStorm » Wed Jul 04, 2018 4:53 am

For those of you still waiting on breedings, calculations are all done and I hope to finish them this week, but if you read on you'll understand why these horses had to come first! ^^

If you pay attention to sports or even half the TV channels these days, you'll know the World Cup is currently in full swing! I'm not a huge soccer/association football fan myself but I have been paying attention to it recently and thought it might be fun to make a little RVEC event centered around the outcomes of the game. After all, who doesn't love making brackets for a sport you're clueless about (or love to the moon and back, while we're at it)? So, that being said, here's how this whole event will go down!

I will make one horse per country per round in the World Cup from the quarterfinals on; for example, if the United States (using them as an example because they didn't qualify) were to make it to the quarterfinals and semi-finals but not the finals, I would make a horse that could be any breed originating in the United States once in the quarterfinals and once in the semi-finals, giving them two adoptable horses total, and the countries that make it to the finals would have three horses total to represent them. So fight, World Cup contenders! Fight for your country's representation on RVEC!

That's not where it ends, though. If you look at the forms, you'll notice two options: "Win or Lose vs. [country]" and "Win World Cup?". These are entirely optional but may add a good bit of fun to the game! The first one, Win or Lose, is for the next game's outcome: Will the country win against its opponent or lose the game? You're welcome to search around online and conclude for yourself whether you think the country will win or lose, but if you're the first person to get it right, the horse is yours, and so is an extra horse of the same breed and opposite gender! It doesn't matter whether the country wins or loses; what matters is that you guess it correctly and guess it before anyone else on this page. If you guess and get it wrong, however, you lose the horse. In that respect, it can be kind of risky, so it's up to you whether or not you want to take that chance. And if you choose not to guess at all and no one guesses correctly, then the horse will go to whoever chooses the best name for the horse that celebrates its country. Please note that if you choose to guess which country will win, you can either guess that one country in a match will win and one will lose or that one country will win or lose and not guess for the other horse, but you cannot guess that both countries will win or lose (that's lying). However, this is only restricted to each individual match; with each match, you can guess again, as long as you follow these same rules.

The second option, Win World Cup, has fewer strings attached, and while still optional, it is highly recommended! This option is only available during the quarterfinals while the form is available for the horse whose country you want to pick. If you select wrong, nothing happens, but if you guess correctly which country will win the World Cup, you will win two more horses of any breed that originates from that country and you can pick the genders as well! This is the case regardless of whether or not you win the horse you selected the country of to win the World Cup; if you called it, you get the prize! ^^ However, you can only pick one country to win the World Cup, so make sure you pick wisely, and you can't change your selection once you've posted your form.

Finally, these horses can be any breed that originates in the country they represent; the breeds that qualify will be listed below. Some countries may not have many breeds originating in their country, so if there are fewer than three, I'll include a few other common horse breeds to make sure there are plenty of choices. If you choose a breed that doesn't allow the horse's color, I'll just update it to fit with the selected breed, so no worries there.

Okay, have fun! <3

Whoops! Forgot to close it right on the dot, but this game is currently underway, so check back in about thirty minutes for the winner!

Congrats again, iStarz, for picking Belgium to win! You win this girl plus another Belgian Warmblood as soon as possible.

Also congrats to p i d g e . for guessing correctly as well; you'll have a Trait du Nord shortly!

Awesome!! Excited they won!

Could they have markings as well? I looked into it and it looks like belgian warmbloods can have sabino or tobiano patterns, while they arent super common.

If not, thats fine.

I wasn't planning on giving this particular horse any pinto markings even when I created her, but I'd be happy to add some basic face and leg markings to make her flashier since I was thinking about doing that anyway before making her breed-compatible ^^
