Why all of the scarves?
Rana may be blind, but don't let that fool you. She's highly trained and skilled in the hidden art of covert operations. She spends her days trying to uncover various forms of information for an intelligence service, one of the most feared services, and in order to do just that, she needs to wear something to mask her identity. The scarves she wears serves so many purposes to the point where she cannot stand being without them. Sure, they get incredibly hot as she travels the deserts in search of her intelligence, but they help keep the sand out of her eyes and keeps her skin protected from the blazing sun. She doesn't like sun screen and her delicate face tends to get burned easily. The scarves act like a barrier, keeping sand from stinging her eyes, whipping her face, or getting clogged in her ears and preventing the sun's harmful rays from burning her like your uncle's fish fry he holds every year on Memorial day.
While the scarves provide a nice protection from harsh elements, keeping her face and parts of her body covered masks her identity. Her suspects can't see her face. It isn't unusual at all for bull sharriers to cover their faces when they live in the deserts, so she blends in. No one questions this either, due to it being usch a common phenomena. Rana is able to sneak her way into organizations and faculties to get exactly what she needs. She's such a useful part in her intel agency and it would be a shame to lose someone as skilled as she. To help with this, Rana is also able to hide things within her scarf, such as audio recorders to help her capture conversations she has and catch the names, locations, dates, and time of literally anything. This alone has helped her agency bring in high suspects and wanted criminals to be put on trial and punished, using them to gain even more information on their whereabouts. It's a dirty business but Rana wouldn't want it any other way. Her scarves are like armour to her and she qouldn't go anywhere without them.

Of course that is one of the very first things she stole, using it to cover up wound seems to be the perfect idea! She now uses scarfs to cover every scar and injury.

Why all of the scarves?
The mornings have always been hard for Valentine, ever since his sight left him and he could no longer take solace in the warm glow of dawn, or the friendly smiles of those he passed on his way. The previously soft comfort of sunrise became only a reminder of the scalding hot day to come, void of the soft words and cheery remarks shared with those he used to call friends. He used to have sharp eyes, in his youth, able to tell a lie from truth in the eyes of another without breaking a sweat, but hearing, only hearing, threw Valentine into a fearful spiral of paranoid thoughts and fake smiles. Not knowing what others were thinking, no matter what they said aloud, made him nervous and wary. His trusting nature, before being his most prominent feature, was shoved to the back of his mind in favor of trying to calculate the thoughts of those around him with only the tells of their speech to guide him. As his sight grew ever darker, however, Valentine took a great comfort in his scarves of bright hues, soft fabrics lulling him to sleep at night when the darkness that swarmed his thoughts grew too heavy for him to bare alone. The thought that even though his sight had abandoned him the bright hearts just outside his blurry vision never wavered, that things outside of his mind were still the way they always were, and that he could still rebuild what he had shied so far away from, this helped steady his ground, giving him a foundation to begin to bounce back from this and to relearn how to live and once more find affection among those he cared about. Though he still has a long way to go, and the sharp tremors and anxious thoughts will still linger, the gentle weight of the scarves around his body ground him to the better things and keep him steady when the going gets tough.

Pick a Prompt (Both...?)

Why all of the scarves?
When she was younger she wasn't blind. An unknown traumatic event caused Missy to lose her vision one cold night. She didn't know who, but she was helped by someone who wrapped her in scarves and kept her warm. She never talks about what happened that night; in fact, she never really talks at all.

What its their favourite thing to steal?
She keeps the scarves on her at all times and steals any fabric goods as they take her back to that sense of security she felt after the traumatic event. Missy decorates the little hut she was left in by her savior with the fabrics to show her thanks.
