Show Name: Endless Sorrow
Barn Name: Shantipriya
Moodboard: xxPersonality:In the few instances where she is willing and able to interact with others, she is often distant at first. Having been hurt too often in the past, she rarely lets herself be vulnerable around anyone, even those she has known for a very long time. Sadness has dampened her spirits over the years, and it is often remarked by others that her eyes show to the world the heavy burden she carries, even through bright, seemingly happy days. At first glance, she is assumed to be a wild-tempered mare. In her youth, her ideas and actions reflected her stormy coat. Now that version of herself is but a distant memory.
Background:Rough, worn down rock towered above, surrounded by dense jungle. The clearing held little other than the ancient
temple, which had been abandoned by humans centuries ago. Long shadows fell upon the ground as the day quickly turned into dusk, and then to dark night. Within the fortified walls, she was safe from predators lurking in the undergrowth. Cast out from her previous herd, she was now alone, left to wander the world without companionship. Finally, she had settled here, finally feeling that this was where she belonged. Shanti often spent her days exploring bits of the overgrown jungle around her, careful not to venture too close to any neighboring villages, lest she run into trouble.
Loneliness easily filled sleepless nights as she fantasized about reuniting with her loved ones. She didn't enjoy feeling sorry for herself, but it was in her nature to crave the love she so deeply desired. Thinking rationally, she knew that this was all her own doing, including her residence in an otherwise empty abode, surrounded by a similarly friendless jungle. Months passed her by where she simply survived, slave to what became mindless routine. She had imprisoned herself in an illusion of happiness; a beautiful cage.
Early morning light filtered through the leaves high above her head. Lazily, she closed her eyes as she rubbed her heavy body against one of the somehow sturdy outer walls of the weathered structure. Crunching leaves behind her brought her out of her haze instantly. Worry and adrenaline coursed through her in equal measure as she turned to face this new danger. The lush green trees had become muted and dull in her mind, over time, and through them, bright blue eyes met her uncertain gaze.
And so began a new life for Shanti.
