Heathersage Dale Horses were once used as packhorses in the 18th century, carrying goods from long distances in difficult terrain. They are now used as in hand show horses and are great for learner riders as they are patient, laid back and have a naturally good pace. These horses have hard, neat feet, suitable for rough terrain. Their legs are straight and set apart so their actions are straight and smooth. Some have a small amount of feathering on their legs that is soft and silky, whereas others may not. Their mane and tail grows quickly and is naturally wavy.
