"It all started out simple, didn't it? But now we're off on this crazy chase to nowhere."

Vervain was getting pretty tired of all this. She still remembered the day about six months ago where she had been running for her life, a mountain of snow falling down around her. She remembered her tiny piece of time travel, a fragment of the silver pocket watch, needing to recharge and thinking 'I'm going to die here'.
. She also remembered the dark, shadowy blur, the flash of brilliant blue... and she especially remembered suddenly standing in a different place, in a different time, and realizing that this fellow was also a time traveler. But not just any time traveler. After all, Vervain would recognize those spiraling eyes from anywhere.
. It was Malorin, the Darkness of Silvarum himself. And she couldn't let him know she had a piece of the Blue, or else he'd become even more powerful.

She thought he would just let her go on her way, but things were never that simple. She knew that if she teleported away he would know that she had a piece of time travel. So Vervain traveled, by foot, to the nearest town, with Malorin saying that she owed him for him saving her life. Vervain shrugged it off and thought nothing of it.
. She could just walk all the way back home and then teleport back into the past. It was a simple idea. The journey began - she started on her way home and prepared for the long road home. One step in front of the other, the young longneck walked through forests and towns, down endless paths, finding places to sleep in trees and under old logs. After two weeks of her travels, she found herself walking through a lonely cornfield, and started thinking. Why not just teleport home here? Surely she was far enough away by now?

But Malorin appeared again later. He showed up in yet another flash of blue in that very cornfield... almost like he knew what she was planning on doing. Or at least had suspected something. "Hello again, dear," the villain said with a sly grin. "Are you willing to help me out with something?"
. He asked her questions, many questions. Questions about time travel and about how her journey had been and she knew he knew. There was no way he'd have been able to tell where she was if he didn't know about her special piece of time travel. And then, finally, he stated it out-right. "You're hiding something from me. A piece of the greatest power in all of Silvarum. It's very simple - you can hand it over, and I'll let you go home." He extended a clawed hand out towards her, and she knew in that moment there was nothing for her to do besides escape.
. Vervain reached into the brown pouch around her neck, pulled out her piece of pocket watch, and thought intently of the place where this whole adventure had started. She vanished in a flash of Blue just before Malorin's claws would have grabbed her.
. She'd be on the run for the rest of her life.
. Well, keeping the world a little bit safer would be worth it.

She had heard of a group of longnecks down by the skyedge, the very tip of the world. Maybe she'd go there for a bit. Whatever happened... she was certainly going to have quite the adventure ahead of her.

Prompt: what is their biggest secret and what have they done to hide it?

Mocha day alone in the windy forest, she always traveled here when she was upset, she had received quite the scolding for it revealing itself again, it was becoming restless, she sighed as she came to a small clearing, she wave her paw and let the magic seep out and into the cold ground. The snow melted around her creating a sea of flowers in the wet grass.
see? It could be used for good
The others disliked her magic and told her to hide it away, frightened of what she could accomplish. She however knew the toll on one who never used their magic and kept it hiding forever. She didn’t want to be like that, hidden alone and afraid. She wanted to be herself and here she could.
She walked around the small patch of spring amidst the winter enjoying the relaxing effect it had; When she suddenly heard a crack. She turned sharply to see a stranger staring at her wide eyed, “y-you’re-” she couldn’t stand to hear the rest of the sentence, she ran off into the forest kicking up a large cloud of snow in her wake.

Suddenly the stranger appeared in front of her almost out of thin air startling her from her stupor.
“W-wait please... I’ve never met someone like me before” she stared at them with disbelief, it soon melted away to happiness as the stranger created more flowers like she had in a small patch of grass.
“Want to keep running together?” They spoke up softly. “It’s better then running alone.” The stranger slowly made eye contact, they smiled, Mocha was smiling back at her.
“Yes”

Prompt: It had been an accident she swears, but when the flower pot fell it was inevitable that hitting the ground was going to break it. Barley had been told time and time again that she wasn't allowed to climb onto the sill of that high window. Yet she never was good at listening to her owner.
When her owner left, she wasn't really too sure what for, the grocery store or work perhaps, Barley had made her decision. The sunlight streaming through looked so appealing, and she was sure she would be able to get in a quick nap long before her owner got home. The thing about this high up window was while it was high and rather small, it had incredibly long, purple curtains.
That was Barley's first thought when she went to try and climb up to the frame. Trying hardest to get a strong enough grip on the curtain to pull herself up. She wasn't too strong though, and that attempt was quickly exhausting her. Only managing to get an inch or two off the ground, Barley let herself fall with an, "oomph," and a sigh.
Her next attempt involved her scooting the chair from her owner's office all the way from the office to the window, easily taking a good 20 minutes to move with her tiny size. She was quite tired by that point, giving the cat that watched from a nearby door frame a sour look. But she was determined to get her nice nap in the window sill. Carefully climbing up the chair, Barley could almost reach the window like this!
Almost doesn't mean could however. Her little paws could just about reach! Straining to get up that last little bit, she stretched herself to stand on the absolute tip of her little toes. Her paws could just reach over! With a huff and a heave she pulled herself onto the sill, happy as could be as she flopped down in the small space.
The same space that happened to be shared by her owner's favorite flower pot, that she had up until that point paid no mind to. A moment too late she realized her error as the flower pot was jutted off the small window sill, bouncing off the arm of the office chair and shattering on the ground next to it, scaring the cat that laid nearby.
When her owner got home, the hair had been moved back, but the flower pot was still there, smashed on the ground with dirt all over. A surprised yelp and a then a yell for the little longneck followed, her owner demanding to know what happened. Barley very convincingly told her owner that the cat had jumped up on the sill, knocking the pot off, of course scaring her to death. Her owner believed her, and the cat was put outside as punishment.
Guilt eating away at her, Barley has kept very quiet about the pot, and tries her hardest to avoid looking outside at the cat that definitely knows what she did.
