DawnCloud's proudest moment is probably the day she gained the trust of SmokeWater. She treats her like a daughter, just like her mate BlueStorm attempts to do but is usually shut down.
knowing that she is BlueStorm's long-lost kit had surprised her at first but she made it her responsibility to see her grow and become the best she could. It was difficult, as SmokeWater wasn't one to trust easily, but with lots of pushing, the she-cat finally opened up to the permanent mother.

"Something seems to be bothering you, dear, are you alright?" DawnCloud asked softly, her mew a low whisper, wondering why the chocolate tortie was coming to see her in the middle of the night.
SmokeWater simply huffed, her heterochromatic eyes wandering, trying to avoid the lilac's calming eyes.
"I just am having a hard time sleeping, that's all." The young paladin said, flattening her ears.
"What's troubling you to keep you awake?" The mother asked, knowing that there'd have to be something that was bothering the she-cat.
"I just-" She started, her voice beginning to break.
"Take your time honey, you don't need to tell me all in one sentence." DawnCloud purred, though her expression remained comforting.
Tears had begun to rim the she-cats odd eyes, and she crawled forward to curl up next to the fluffy she-cat.
"I just--Want to know--why my parents--abandoned me." SmokeWater sobbed, pressing her nose into the other's fur, her body shaking with each breath.
DawnCloud wrapped her thick fur around the slim she-cat. "Shh. It's okay." She cooed, her ears flattening against her head. Clearly, abandonment was something that followed this molly wherever she went, and her nights were probably disturbed with images of her waking up alone.
"Dear, there's no reason to cry. They clearly didn't realize what they had. And you grew up to be such a charming young she-cat, don't drawl on the past. You have so many cats here that care about you." She told her, causing the she-cat to curl up next to the larger molly.
Slowly the sobs ceased, and SmokeWater had drifted off to sleep, and all that DawnCloud could think of was the fact that the she-cat was comfortable enough to share that with her. [374]
