you pull me in
am i ready to go?
or just be pulled back in again?
the choice is tough
but it’s mine to make
yet the waves are rough
and the ground begins to quake
it’s so easy to be pulled in
to give in to the tide
and the shaking within
pulls me along for the ride
my heart is heavy, yes
but i must leave now
before i go, let me confess
i can not fathom how
anyone can walk away from this
the crashing of the waves, nay
there’s so much beauty i could miss
if i were to just walk away.

i’m not ready to go
ill stay. and it’ll pull me back in again.

extras;archer has always loved the sea, the crashing of the waves against his fathers fisninh boat at the crack of dawn, or the subtle in and out of the shore, almost as if the sea was breathing in time with him; almost as if he and the sea were one. after his father died he’d still go out on his fathers boat, and try to listen to the waves, but the waves had a newfound malevolence to them. instead of the rhythmic crashing and roaring he was used to, the waves were choppy and out of time. his father had been so good at sailing this boat that he had learned to control a boat like that one, you have to give in to the waves, and move with them. struggling against them only makes it worse. so archer set out trying g to learn the ways of sailing just like his father. he remembered back to when he was young, when he was at one with the sea and tried to regain that feeling. the waves soon began to trust him, and allowed him to sail freely. but he’d learned his lesson, a lesson his father should’ve taught him long ago: the sea is a powerful force, one to be reckoned with, and the only way to have success in the battle with the waves is to let them win. let them wash over you, and become them. let them become you. then, and only then can you truly be free to sail. archer hopes to someday sail faraway, and explore places even his father hadn’t sailed to. or wherever the waves take him, would probably be a more suitable goal.
