Sal had a bad experience as a foal that has led him to hate balloons and busy, crowded places. As a small foal, he became separated from his mother and humans after being startled by some popping balloons at a fair.
He had ran off out of fright, and by the time he calmed down and stopped to look about he was lost. All the loud noises and new sights and sounds at the fair became too much for the young Salvador, and he spent hours hiding and trembling behind a show tent until his mother and their human were able to find him.

Jasper's least favorite thing in the entire world is hoses. Not only do they look terrifyingly snake-like, they are also capable of spraying water, tripping horses, and (perhaps most sinister of all) swaying menacingly in the breeze if they happen to be hanging up somewhere.

What's his least favourite thing?: Hopper's least favourite thing is [ironically] anything that jumps that isn't a horse, this includes: rabbits, bugs, hares, small children, ect. He's particularly not fond of small children and when they run about the fields or the area, going over jumps like horses. On occasion, he's been known to chase them off or rear at them to scare them off which is one of the reasons he usually only gets paired with experienced riders. If rabbits are spotted running or jumping in his field, he won't hesitate to charge at them, never actually hurting them but more scaring them off. He also has a particular distaste for lead ropes being thrown, having been hit in the face with them before. Although he tends not to hurt people, he has been known to strike out when thrown something at or when something jumps too close to him, even if he hates to admit it, he hates being spooked.
