'Werifesteria Canis Aureus', also commonly called 'Weries' or even 'Gem Jackals' to locals. Named for the odd one wandering through the forest in many occasions, willingly on the look for an adventure.
Originally born from the smaller stalegmites/stallegtites, and formed over millions of years - these gems bare a striking resemblance to the Black backed jackal, which they grew up alongside.
They have crystals that form anywhere on their body and can be almost any shape or colour - often depicting something they admire or a found object. Their crystal gems are not shaped at birth, but rather change over time, which is usually seen as a 'right of passage' or a 'coming of age'. Their crystals glow in the dark and Weries have often known to help those lost in the woods home <3

Their Dream Job and why?: Sorrelpatch (or Sor, for short) loves to bird watch. When he was a pup, his grandfather took him into the forest to look at wildlife. But his grandfather’s coat was nearly all white, so the birds would see him and fly away from him. But when Sor would venture into the woods alone, his brown-patched coat would keep him fairly hidden from the birds above. He hopes one day to be able to work with scientists and other birdwatchers to learn more about birds and their behaviors. Then he could do what he loves for a living. He is fascinated by birds because of their ability to fly, and how they communicate (plus, they’re super adorable). He wishes he could fly, but he thinks that he’s perfectly fine just watching them do it better. Sometimes he is intrigued by how the birds’ feathers look like some other Weries that he knows personally. He has even invested in a high-quality camera to prove himself to the scientists he will be (hopefully) working with.
