Jean is who you would call a spacey individual at first glance. Though equally sharp in reflexes and mind, she rarely lets it show when she’d rather have her head in the clouds. There isn’t much that grabs her attention long enough for her to seem invested, so it’s not uncommon for her to piss others off with her deadpan stare once she checks out of a conversation. Though not all that irresponsible, she does come off as a bit too flippant at times. She’s also surprisingly unrepentant because she means complete offense; she finds little things like small talk to be distinctly unimportant, so she’s not sure why most pets decide to do it with her— good luck asking her about the weather. They may as well sit quietly beside her with how insignificant she views most conversations to be.

But, don’t let her appreciation for comfortable silence fool you; once she’s suitably invested in what you’re saying, she becomes wry in her humor and loves to share her own advice or tidbit. Her own intelligence shines through on these occasions; as a former foster dog, she’s been passed from owner to owner more times than she can count and became more comfortable around humans and pets alike as a result. Plus, the things she learned from each of the humans means that there’s little that can phase her nowadays (and she loves it when other pets make a game out of seeing if they can). She also loves goading other creatures into interesting little schemes; as a restless individual by nature, she doesn’t like to stay still for too long even though she knows how to.

Jean ends up being delightfully engaging in conversations even though she seems to generally abhor them, and her own innate charm means she’s quick to make a friend with her friendly demeanor. That is, of course, when she hasn’t offended the individual from the get-go. Beyond that, she tries not to let her need to be so impolite bleed into her interactions with her family. As a dog who’s never known the stability of a permanent family, she’s steadfast in giving her undivided attention to those she cares about.

Jean's curiously attentive towards the needs of her loved ones. And, though she hides it unexpectedly well, their emotions tend to resonate with her own. She feels like she's on cloud nine when her pack's having a amazing day, but a sour mood or visibly depressed member makes her tense and inwardly distressed even though she tries to keep her feelings under wraps.

Though Jean’s upfront about her need for brevity, she rarely means any harm by it. More than once she’s had to correct a social faux pas, and nowadays she tries to retain some tact. But man, the want to let her mind wander is oh so tempting…

Relationship w/ Storm:

So uptight! While Jean personally admires both the shepherd’s dependable nature and her keen intelligence, it’s like pulling teeth trying to get Storm to loosen up. Storm’s never up for heckling other pets, getting a little dirty, or racing just for fun! Jean’s not quite sure if Storm is all that impressed by her tendency to brush other pets off even if Jean doesn’t mean ill will by it, but Jean thinks she’s been slowly able to wiggle past Storm’s defenses. In hindsight, Jean thinks she may have initially seemed just a touch condescending before Storm was willing to exchange a few words with her one day. Becoming privy to such a brilliant mind now makes Jean double her efforts to get Storm to open up.

However, Jean still honors Storm’s more stern traits. Storm’s solidity in the face of adversity mirrors Jean’s own devotion to her family, so Jean instinctively knows she can rely on the stoic shepherd when Jean’s in over her head. Storm doesn’t seem to tolerate nonsensical conversation either, so Jean’s content with the knowledge that she can share her space with Storm without either of them needing to talk just to fill the silence. Yet, fur-contact seems to be off the table; Jean can never get within three feet of the shepherd without the female growling at her to keep her distance. Such a waste though— Storm’s fur looks so soft. As an intrinsically affectionate dog, Jean will become touch-starved around Storm at this rate. Jean can't deny that Storm is an amazing friend to have though, so Jean tries to respect her boundaries.

But hah! The distance seems to shrink sometimes— still, Storm’s limit seems to be about a foot on her good days. Well, Jean’s not stupid; she’d rather keep her hide where it is.

However, the one thing that confuses Jean about Storm is her indifference towards other's emotions. Jean's so emotionally sensitive that she looks on with bewilderment when Storm can easily dismiss the obvious woes or agitations of another dog or pet. Jean just wonders how Storm does it. How can Storm not get tense, even a little bit, when another pet gets noticeably worked up?

Still, Jean's glad she knows this no-nonsense dog. Storm's unflappable nature means that Jean's prone to hanging around the white shepherd when Jean's feeling particularly harrowed.

Though Storm isn't flirty, or funny like Rogue, they can bond over their independent natures. Storm is reserved, keeping her emotions hidden, and in that she is independent. Rogue is more open, but likes to have plenty of alone time and tends to hide her past life from others to maintain an independence of her own. They will share some things with each other though, that they don't share much with others. Sometimes of course, they irritate each other with their differences, but they both know when it is time to apologize and patch things up. Living in the same general neighborhood they can see each other whenever they sneak out of their homes. She often invite Storm along. They are more or less the neighborhood bully patrol, keeping an eye out for bullies, aggressive packs or individuals. They will quickly set offenders straight, with a harsh word, or if necessary, a physical warning. Rogue feels like she can trust Storm more than anyone, and often sees her as a big sister figure. When she needs to spill her feelings or troubles, she will tell Storm, and even if Storm doesn't have the best sympathizing skills, it means a lot to Rogue that she just listens.
