Show Name: Forged from Fire and Smoke
Barn Name: Askja
Story: (I will be telling a story from the viewpoint of my newest mare, Andraste)
Smoke curled around the fire parched land the battle had once been raging, the mare made of moonlight stood elegantly atop a hill overlooking the travesty before her.
Nostrils flaring as she inhaled the pungent smoke, her keen green orbs scanning the area as a victorious pride began to bubble up within her core. A flickering of her ears brought the thunder of hooves upon the dry earth, her scanning continuing. Soon her gaze captured a draft that seemed to be made from pure evil. The rogue mare was the color of a deep smoke that was interrupted by fire, causing an uneasy feeling to merge from within Andraste. She shifted her weight upon her hooves before continuing to watch the other mare run, 'It is Askja...the forbidden one' Andraste thought to herself, her ears flickering back to touch her neck in slight anger.
Why was this mare here? She had no herd or alliance to have her linger amongst the wreckage. She quickly turned and galloped down the hill, returning to her herd. She stopped outside her territory line and glanced back to see the mare close behind, mist curling from Askja's nostrils, promptly stamping her heavy hoof upon the ground. Andraste was suddenly pinged with fear, quivering slightly before addressing the mare known as Askja, "Why are you here?" She asked simply, her voice carrying over the quiet valley.
Askja released a quiet chuckle and lifted her head, flicking her ears back as she tossed her ebony mane, "To view the failure of the opposing and congratulate the victorious." She said, shifting her weight once more as she nodded to the moonlight mare, "I congratulate you on your victory in battle today, I wish you many more."
Andraste was speechless, the anger that fueled her rebuttal now non-existent, "Th-thank you, Askja." She said after a moment, returning the nod, shifting her own weight. She was still fearful of the mare, considering that it is thought that when she appears in battle you are destined to lose your cause, the chimeric mare was told as a fable and lore by all for unfortunate battle loss and bad luck.
Andraste slowly approached Askja, careful of each step before she was near enough to truly view the mare. She was beautiful yet the chimeric was truly odd, "Askja, I am extending an offer to join my her and help me lead them into battle and command them." She said with a lifting of her head, ears extended fully forward.
Askja chuckled softly and turned her gaze to the left, "Andraste, don't you think your herd would be uneasy being lead by a creature of lore?" She asked with another chuckle, turning her gaze back to meet the moonlight mare's, "Then again, they are lead by one of purity and luck, a lore all her own."
Andraste chuckled and began to relax, flicking her glimmering tail, "Maybe if we join together as one, luck will always be our favor?" She asked and both mares chuckled before Andraste leaned her muzzle forward to gently touch Askja's shoulder in a respectful, honorable manner, "Think about it, Askja, you know where to find me." She said before turning and trotting away to rejoin her herd, visions of glorious battle flooding her mind as she was alongside the chimeric mare, the team never defeated once joined!
