I wanted to play around with dun markings so here's a lil solid bab for you all! To win her, name her after a goddess from any mythology and tell me why you chose the one you did. Ends after five finished forms! c:

Show Name: Goddess of the Harvest
Barn Name: Demeter
Reason: Demeter, goddess of the harvest, is usually associated with dark
browns and green colors. Whenever her daughter, Persephone, is in the underworld
with Hades, the world turns cold - hence fall and winter. This mare can be ornery,
especially when she doesn't get what she wants, and can turn cold towards whomever
has offended her ( she usually gets over it quickly), similar to Demeter.

Show Name: Ceres
Barn Name: Ceres
Reason: Just like the soil, this horse is dark yet beautiful. The soil is best and most useful when it is a dark damp looking brown. I chose Ceres, the Goddess of Agriculture because not only is this horse the color of soil, Ceres is basically the goddess to help things grow.

Show Name: Where Wisdom Lies
Barn Name: Athena
Reason: Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom, and this mare is just as wise as the goddess herself. She is high up in the ranks of the Nomads (the army), and is well respected by many of the stallions around her, having earned her respect through acts of bravery unmatched by even some of the males. Her smarts led her to this position, and she holds it with pride, using her wise intellect to help other mares rise to where they will.

Show Name: Common Ground
Barn Name: Papa
Reason: Papa is the Polynesian (primarily Maori) goddess of the earth and creation. She and Rangi are the primal couple. I look at this mare and I see the steady fire at the core of the earth, and in her eyes, the blanket of life upon it. I can see her as being a powerful spirit, strong and steadfast in personality. Also, I can imagine her as having compassion, which is fitting for the goddess Papa, who has the ability to heal and give life.

Show Name: Divinisation of the Landscape.
Barn Name: Litavis
Reason: A goddess in celtic mythology worshipped by the gauls, she is assumed to be an earth goddess because of the derivation of her name. I think this suits the horse because it is a lovely name, and when I first looked at this mare's coat, I thought of earth.

Show Name: The Idol of the Warrior
Barn Name: Nerio
Reason: Nerio is a Roman goddess of war, the personification of valor; she was a Goddess soldiers could pray to alongside her husband, Mars, offering a softer face to the destruction that could be wrought while on the battlefield. Mars is the epitome of violence, represented by a vivid red color, and I see the goddess that is his wife as the same red, but diluted so as to offer a kinder persona that a solider can pray to when they need just that little bit of hope to stay noble while in battle. If Mars is the complete destruction and chaos on the field, I see Nerio as a calmer force, no less deadly and able to decimate, but one who has the grace to remain proud of herself for her deeds and keep those who pray to her the same.

Congrats! I love the comparison you drew here, and the lesser-used mythology. c:
