The shelter was so graciously invited to our local Diwali event this year. The people in charge saw it as an
opportunity to bring an unusual factor and knew the large crowd would provide many ample opportunities
for the animals in the shelter to find a new home. We were more than happy to accept and have set up our
own place near where most of the festivities will take place to showcase the many cats and dogs looking
for a home at the shelter. We hope the celebration draws in many potential adopters with its masses.

These two are a pair of Topazes, a new experimental breed.

Personality:
Ivy is naturally a good person, she wants everyone to be happy and would
pretty much do anything to make people happy. While she is gullible and often
not is scammed by people who take advantage in her, she believes in second
chances something not too many people give out. Ivy can be a bit shy, not the
cliche cute girl shy but when presenting a case she needs to give for her family's
business. At times she is forgetful, she forgets peoples names often and doesn't
remember directions well, due to this she has sticky notes everywhere to remind her.
Ivy can get distracted easily and tends to forget what she is talking about.

History:
Born in a higher up family Ivy has always had stuff handed to her, While she
was taught to be polite and to be treated the way she wanted to be treated, while
her family is rich and higher up they are considered "Nice" they donate to the poor,
aren't snobby and know whats right and wrong. She overall had a nice childhood
and didn't have to go through the struggles of going hungry or having no clothes.
To this day she sticks to the morals of "Be treated the way you want to be treated"
and "Give to the ones who can't afford, their the nicest people you'll ever meet."

Relationship with Other: Dani thinks of them as her little brother/sister, caring about them some. She doesn't like to show how she likes them around, it's just hard for her. Still, she will sometimes show how she likes them, but not typically. It's not her fault that she has issues, she just had a rough past. She will always love how they helped out with her problems. Dani might not show it, but she really does think of them as a younger sibling. Nothing could really break the bond that they have with one another.

Personailty: Dani is known for her hard-outer shell, not one to talk about her feelings. She can get pretty aggressive when others try to make her do things she doesn't want to do. Strong-willed, not one to take rules and will fight for her rights. If she was human then someone might call her a goth really, maybe even emo. Dani doesn't trust anyone after some of her past, so she steers clear of most others. It was hard when she was first found by the shelter, staying away from everyone, even her own cage mate. It's not that she doesn't care, it's just she had a hard life. Being arrogant is also one of the many things that people see out of her. Since she kinda doesn't care about others too much, and sometimes takes advance of her 'friend'. Still, under all this hard evil shell, she is a sweet kitten. Loving to help out others more than anything, even though she sometimes takes advance of him. Trying to get back to her old ways is hard, but she hopes that maybe someone could help her get back to normal. She is extremely alert about things and watches out for most everyone, even her enemies. The saying 'Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer' - is what she goes by, meaning she pays even close to who she hates. Very patient when it comes to things like that as well, taking things close to heart and waiting so that she could win.

History: Dani isn't one to typically take about her past, it makes her have terrible flashbacks. Sometimes not everything needs to come back to mind. You might hear the story from, later on, but right now, you won't hear it.

Personality: Para is calm and collected, the perfect balance between brain and brawn, however he is very passive. He often tries to avoid conflict of any sort, especially heated fights, mostly because he is afraid to speak up his own opinions to try and stop it. This is especially evident when someone is trying to hurt someone he cares for. He'll often freeze and not be able to do anything, despite his strength probably being enough to stand up to the aggressor. This can cause for him to feel useless to those he cares for, especially when he thinks about what could happen if they were attacked in front of him. This aside, he actually loves to help out others with advice, especially if they have suffered from something he has experienced. He'll take advice as well, and isn't overly offended by brutal honest replies or even certain strange or controversial topics. He needs emotional support from others though, as his emotions can run a bit awry and he simply needs someone to help to cope with these emotions at times, even simply listening to him ramble while he gets rid of certain emotions.

⊵Relationship with Honey: Para and Honey have a kind of "opposites attract" relationship. Para is mostly calm and collected, seemingly a bit cold at times, while Honey is sweet and caring. Para cares for her dearly, though he knows he can't fully protect her. Her company, for him, is very helpful when it comes to emotional support and simply having someone to care for. He truely loves her, with all of his being.
⊵Arriving Home: Para woke up this early morning, in a carrying box, surrounded by old smells of strange cats and dogs. He was too groggy to properly hear what a strange voice had said, but he assumed it was a human. He looked around, there being a slight dark tint everywhere, not just from the car's dark tints on the interior. There was a rumbling sound, heard from below, along with small bumps shaking his cage slightly. However these sensations did not bother him in the slightest and only lulled him back to sleep.
-- The dark tom awoke once more to the sound of a slammed door, and looked around to the feeling of slight swaying, making him feel a bit nervous. Curious and worried meows could be heard from his cage, escaping his muzzle as he looked around through the box door. When he finished meowing to catch his breath, he could hear another strange, yet calming voice coming from outside the box, though he couldn't exactly understand what the presumably female, voice was saying. He quieted on the meowing a bit, and waited, quietly slumping down into a small-ish ball, curling his tail over himself. Somehow a large door was opened in front of him, being unable to see what actually opened it, and his box floated through the doorway, into a lovely looking room. This area had lovely perches and some comfy looking cushions on a long couch. His box was then set down on the hard floor, making a slight "thunk" noise, causing for him to stand and try to open the cage, meowing a bit. He could hear the closing of doors and shuffling of things on the floor before the box's door was opened slowly by a hand.
-- He poked out his head, his ears trying to pick up any suspicious sounds as he slowly padded out, noticing a tall figure to the side.
He recognized this figure as a human, possibly the voice that was speaking to him earlier. Para didn't know how to feel about this human, slightly puffing up as she let out her hand, with him proceeding to smell it and letting his fur flatten. His tail twitched low to the ground, a bit nervous about his surroundings still. The large figure walked off, feet making slight noises as it walked off towards one of the comfy places, leaving him to explore this new place. He padded around, sniffing things, jumping on surfaces, lightly batting at certain hanging materials, but he was beginning to become a bit anxious. There were strange smells of dogs and cats and... some other creatures? He only realized now that his lovely Honey wasn't anywhere in sight. Maybe she was hiding? he thought, padding around meowing curiously and kind of worriedly. After padding around, meowing kind of frantically, he eventually became anxious and a slight bit distressed. He was never without his Honey, well not "never" but he was rarely alone, without her anywhere in sight. After his meowing, he was tired, sad and scared of this new place, though it wasn't threatening in the slightest.
-- Although he certainly was calming down after a few days, and realizing that there was good food, love and plenty of company,
he simply wanted to see Honey again. He had known and cared about her for so long that her company eventually became a necessity, especially with how lovely she was as a cat, personality wise and looks. He loves her dearly and really does long to see her again, even if it's only rarely.

Behind the Scenes: Honey is one of the various colours that the gemstone topaz appears in. It is also something that refers to her sweet personality, and one of the colours of the unique powder on her face.

Personality: Honey is full of life and never lets anything keep her down or stand in her path. She is an endearing cat that never passes up an opportunity for some affection, and naturally she is a sweet and caring gal. With that said, she only has two speeds. Fury fast and sluggish slow. She is very much a busy bee, always doing something, and more often than not, multitasking. In the start of the day it's like a torch has been lit inside her that keeps her fueled throughout the day. Until that flame burns out. Which is when Honey starts to slow down and only has the energy to curl up to her favorite person or feline for a long nap. When the flame burns out sooner rather than later, Honey has the tendency to stress out over not being able to finish all the day's activities she had planned. It isn't always the most prettiest of sights, but with that being the only exception, she usually suns bright. Being full of warmth and sincerity. She never hesitates to help in anyway she can, unless she's enviably asleep, and is always on top on things.

Relationship with Other: Para is like Honey's life line. Sure he may not be the big man of the house, protector and provider, but Honey doesn't care about that. Some may view that she has done more for him than he has for her, but Honey doesn't care about that either. Para gives Honey a focus point so she doesn't derail herself. If Para wasn't there to remind her it's okay to slow down and that she doesn't need to complete her to-do list, then she has no sweet clue what she'd do.
Arriving Home: Honey was not a happy camper. She meowed and clawed at the cage she was stuck in. This was most certainly not what she had planned for the day, and she did not like it one bit. Para wasn't with her, let alone answering her calls for him, and the scents were all wrong. Nothing smelt like what she had grown custom to. There were unfamiliar human voices surrounding her, which had only aided in her heart thumping against her rib cage. It had to be going a mile a minute. Her fur was all ruffled and poofed up, quite the mess actually, and her ears were tucked back. Everything screamed wrong, and Honey had to get out. Get back to her Para.
-- Once all the commotion stopped and the cage was opened, Honey didn't hesitant to boot it out of there. The humans hadn't seen her all day as she hid from them under the furniture. She only dared to come out at night after being certain all the humans were asleep. This was when she explored to check the doors and windows, which unfortunately were all closed. She was trapped, but not all hope was lost. Honey carefully observed the humans routine over the following days, and occasionally made a dart for a door or tried to clawed out the screen on windows left open. Nothing was working out the way she planned. Honey had never felt so lost before as her emotions were in a turmoil of anger, depression, sadness, and loneliness. There were other pets in the house, but she avoided them. She needed Para.
-- As days turned into weeks, Honey formed a new plan. She had continued to avoid everyone and everything in the dreadful house up until now. Her health condition had declined, and every moment she was thinking about her Para. Did he miss her like she missed him? How was he fairing without her? That was the moment when she realized something important. Something she had overlooked and forgotten. It panged her heart, but Para wouldn't want her to be cowering and becoming sick. Honey had to gain her strength, so that when she saw her Para again they could be together again. It wasn't a matter of if. There was no 'what if's. Only when.
-- With Honey's strength returning, she had formed new friendships and foes amongst the other pets. She became less destructive. It wasn't so bad. She even started to curl up next to the humans, allowing them to pet her. Though she wasn't quite that busy bee self she use to be. Not with all her energy going towards finding Para. She needed to reserve herself for him, and without him there was a piece of herself missing.
