Night Gliders are shy and stealthy gentle giants who up until now have kept themselves hidden deep in forests, high in the mountains, and in unexplored caverns. This large sub breed of Khimaria Friesians seems to be completely nocturnal, and afraid of bright lights. They range from 17-19hh tall, and all have pale colored eyes. Their coats do not seem to differ from any normal Khimaria, but their large wings, short manes, curled horns, and pointed incisors clearly set them apart. Once these winged Friesians warm up to you they have very sweet and docile tendency, preferring to just mill about quietly and enjoy ear scratches.

What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Phyl glided steadily through the night, the breeze beneath and above her wings working in tandem, keeping her afloat. Peering down at the world below her, she smiled at the thought of her gift- being truly free.
Phyl likes flying above all other activities and will take every opportunity to use her wings to their full potential. She is, as a result, a very strong flyer, and does what she can to teach other Night Flyers and foals how to do. She enjoys sharing the true freedom that comes with flying and tries to do as much good as she can with it. Say, if a horse was stranded and needed some help, Phyl would fly to find it, and assist the other horse where she could. While she finds it sad that some people are still a bit scared of her kind, she tries what she can to show that she is really just another equine, and just wants to be friends. Zara loves to groom herself. It’s not because she can’t stand dirt, more of, she just loves it. To her, grooming is relaxing and therapeutic, whether she does it herself or have the stable-handlers to it for her. It calms her mind and just takes away her stress. Of course, there are some parts where she can’t exactly reach so she’ll tend to leave it aside or if a stable-handler is grooming her, she’ll hint that she wants to be groomed at a certain area. Zara pays extra attention when grooming her underwings and mane as she personally feels those are her most important part. After a grooming, Zara would be in a good mood and would admire her own reflection or just take a short glide around the stables.

Zara’s a very docile, gentle and fun-loving mare. She is just a doll and loves to socialise with others. However, while she is docile and sweet, she has shown to have a hardier side. Zara isn’t one to take orders from unfamiliar Khims or handlers and wouldn’t cooperate with such. While some just knows her as a princess-type Khim, Zara actually doesn’t mind getting down and dirty when having fun.

Favorite thing to do: Maelstrom's very favorite thing to do in her spare time, is to walk the shoreline of the large lake near her stable in the evenings. She does it as often as possible, even in the winter. On occasion, she brings her close friend Aphrodite along with her. They both love to watch the waves lapping on the shore, and to stare out at the sunset across the rippling water. They'll often be out there as long as possible, before being called back to the barn.
Short personality: Maelstrom is an unpredictable girl, just like what you'd expect from someone named after the currents. She could be over the moon one minute, but have sparks of anger practically flying off her the next. She's extremely stubborn and head-strong, doing what she wants when she wants it and no one's going to tell her what to do. She's also very adventurous and independent, never accepting help from others. She loves to run off into the woods on her own and explore, although on occasion she'll bring a friend along, but most of the time these are solo ventures.
