Their Story: Storm was a stray that was found wandering the train tracks on a stormy day, he was soaked, and through his fur were very visible ribs. The poor guy must have been out their for days, maybe weeks. We were able to finally earn a shred of his trust by holding out food and softly calling to him, eventually he came to us, but walked very gingerly on his left leg. We assume his owners didn't care for him and abused him, and that was why he was cast out in such bad shape. After getting him in a crate, wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket, we went back to the shelter and checked him out. We saw he had two infected toes, which were already past the possibility of saving. We amputated them and gave him medicines for pain, gave him a flea bath, and also got him fattened up. Now he needs a special forever home, where he will be loved.

Bug was quite a mysterious appearance, for there were no stray cats in the neighborhood. He seemed to only come out at night, and it was unknown where he lived. He was pretty slim, yet some-how healthy. People would report dead rats and a foul smell. That is because Bug ate fish only. He was wondering around the abandoned cabin, (where he hung around) and met Nano, who he was very cautious of the canine when they first met. Bug would snap at Nano every now and then but they had a pretty stable relationship. Bug would catch fish or steal food from dumpsters to feed himself and Nano, and Nano in return would protect Bug. They were found by Second Chance Shelter after Nano convinced Bug to get a new family. Bug was raised by wolves, yet he didn't tell Nano that. He was confused with humans way of life and still hunts daily, instead of eating cat-food.

Their Story:
Ajax came from a another animal center, as he was originally part of the "trap-neuter-release" program, as when he was captured, they believed he was feral with no chance of adoption. However, he started to become friendlier and seemed to be used to humans after a little bit, so he was transferred to our shelter so that we could work with him and eventually adopt him out. The first center he was at told us a bit about him, but they hadn't really known much. They said they had gotten multiple calls about feral cats in the neighborhood, and some had become aggressive. They ended up trapping around forty cats, one of which being Ajax. They said after a few days he warmed up to the handlers, telling them he wasn't feral after all and could be placed up for adoption. They believed he was thrown out of a car, because he had two broken ribs and abrasions, which looked like road burns. They also think he came from abusive owners, as a wire was wrapped around his back two toes, and had to be amputated because at that point the toes couldn't function. From records, he stayed there until his injuries were taken care of, then was taken to our shelter. There,
he met Nano, and they bonded immediately.
