Looking past the obvious comparison of mention of eyes in this song to the odd number of eyes that Sagwa possesses said mention relates to her main characteristic; her watchfulness. Sagwa comes across as odd, foolish even, and never bothers to correct anyone who sees her as such. Her habit for spewing random non sequiturs and divulging off topic into a seeming world of her own tends to put other Babusagi off. But she is far from unconnected to the world, Sagwa is likely the most in tune Babusagi you will ever meet, her 'random' outbursts not actually being random, but observations on her surroundings that she believes worth noting that somehow other Babusagi just don't seem to notice. Maybe it's because of her odd number of eyes but she notices more than anyone else. So she made it her job to educate the others on these missed details, be it extremely passively. Their opinions of her just bounce right off of the armor of knowledge she has created for herself but still she prefers the company of herself, perfectly happy to simply watch the world from her 'hill' instead of being a part of it.

I feel like Phoebe would be one to live in the moment all the time.
While this would be a good trait to have at times for staying happy
and not getting caught up in the past or worrying about the future,
it would also have a downside of her not looking ahead to the
consequences of her actions. I've never really toyed with this
trait before, but I think it makes for a really balanced character.
The above lyrics kinda describe this trait, Phoebe not feeling
troubled and think she is as free as a bird, then making a mistake
that sticks with her. Her battle to balance the good and bad parts
of this way of thinking would be really fun to write about.
