art or short story (min 200 words) of where they came from/how you found them!-HOME-
"I.. don't remember much about where I lived before moving here. I'm going to be honest though- It was a lot like this city, except there were a lot more trees and it snowed often. That's the reason I came here, actually. Couldn't find another place that was close enough to my childhood home to be comfortable. I'm glad of it, though. Moving, that is. There was a lot of smoke and ash and stuff in the air back there. I'm not sure where it came from, but it's probably what's clouding my memories now. There's a lot I don't remember though, so it could have been something else."
-ENCOUNTER-
I trudged through the streets, grumbling to myself. Seeing a bright display, I stepped away to see what exactly it was trying to sell. After staring at it for a few seconds, I started leaving, but noticed a foxlep wandering into the street. I could hear a car coming, so I pulled the foxlep to the safety of the curb. The foxlep squeaked and clambered onto me. Surprised, I managed to pet it on the head and make a few soothing noises before trying to place it down. The foxlep refused to let go, claws digging into my jacket. We didn't move, until the foxlep finally dropped to the ground, looking embarrassed. "I'm.. sorry about that. I've only recently moved here and I'm still not used to all the noise."
I was a bit shocked- Most foxleps were learning about human culture, but only a few speak English. Then again, most don't have any hair besides fur, since longer hair usually meant more to grab and pull on. The foxlep looks nervous and I realized I've been silent the whole time. "O-oh! I was a little surprised hearing you talk.. Anyway, you don't need to apologize. It's not your fault that you're not used to the city. I.. could help you, if you want? I was the same when I moved here."
I twined my hands together and looked away, cursing my inability to stop talking. The foxlep seemed content with my response, though. "That sounds.. OK.. I guess.. Do we do that now?"
I shook my head. "I was actually heading home right now, sorry. Later?"
The foxlep seemed to remember something and scuffs at the ground with her paw. "Um.. actually.. could I stay with you? I don't have a place yet.."
Hesitating for a moment, I nod. "It's fine. I could use a roommate, to be honest."
The foxlep beams, relief spreading on her face. "Great! I'm Neava, nice to meet you!"
