What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Valentine’s is a very special day for her, because it is a day of celebration. Not just for the flying hearts and love-filled air, but because it is also the day that she was born. She could clearly remember the moment she first opened her eyes; the sky was a little too bright, her surroundings a little too blurry, the air was a little too cold. But she could sense her, she could smell her, and while she was still finding her balance, she felt her drawing closer, to make sure she didn’t fall. She blinked her eyes in a brief flurry, and when she looked up, a pair of the most gentle, purple eyes greeted her. “Wow, you have the same eyes as I, my dear child.” It was her mother.

Valentine’s is a very special day for her, but also one of grief. It was the day that her mother passed on, or rather, was accidentally shot. A group of wandering hustlers had happened to chance upon the herd while they were grazing near the village, and seeing her beautiful mother, began to cook up an evil scheme. They approached slowly, quietly, so as not to scare the herd, and likewise, the gentle friesians did not bat an eye at their strange behaviour. Suddenly, one of them pulls out a sack, and tries to force it over her mother’s head. Rearing with shock, her mother frantically tries to free herself from her captors, kicking in every direction. Afraid of her strength, the hustlers tried to abandon ship, and wanted to scare off the horses. One of the hustlers pulled out a gun, intending the shoot the ground, however, lands the shot directly on her mother.
