[Insaniity]

Deerssert are a mystical, mythological species that appear in history every so often. Sightings grew sparser and sparser through the years, but now they've started to appear more and more. Here at the HQ, a centre dedicated to keeping these creatures from being hunted, we cannot foster them all-- and that's where you come in!

The simplest way to explain them? Deersserts are deer with a twist! While the specifics vary from deer to deer, they all have a few things in common. Deersserts have muscle, skin, fur and bone, but they are described as tasting like sweets. Their scent lingers so much that hides carry a fragrant scent even after death. Instead of fluffy tails, they have a pouf of whipped cream or ice cream [depending on the deer!] with some manner of fruit on top.

So for this one I want to see a lot of character development in just 600 words and 2 art pieces. Some examples might be taking about what they do for fun, their pet peeves, etc. You might write a story about them or talk about their past. It's a very broad competition and the main thing that I want to see is how much life you can breathe into this deer! Get creative with it and just have fun. Prettying up is encouraged and you may format your entry however you chose. I simply provided the skeleton with the required info, but you can add or change it however you like.

Your breath catches and you freeze as you feel the barest hint of a breath against your neck.
There's the scent of apples in the air.
You whirl around to face this mystery only to discover nothing there.

"You're lost? Or mayhaps you thought you knew the way through my forest?"
You freeze and the voice chuckles though not happily. The sound is sad, burdened.

"You seem kindly stranger. Won't you lend me your ear?"

You turn slowly to find sad glowing emeralds gazing back at you. And the owner of them far more mystical.

"My name is Haze young traveler. And this is my forest. Or rather my cage."
