Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

These two dogs were given to our shelter when the owner was unable to take care of them. They're a rambunctious duo; the Utonagan is a dog with low adaptability and high energy, while the German Shepherd Chow mix is hard to train and aggressive. They're rather young and need homes that suit their needs. The Utonagan is a mix of the Alaskan Malamute, the German Shepherd, and Siberian Husky in an effort to resemble a wolf; however, they're friendly dogs who are good with kids. The German Shepherd Chow is very antsy and is best kept away from other animals. The two have some bond between them, and it is suggested that the owners of the respective dogs keep in touch in order to allow the two to socialize with one another.

The German Shepherd Chow mix is my staff custom, long overdue as I joined staff in August; however the Utonagan is up for adoption! I will be posting separate refs of the two where you can also find information on my dog should you want it; his name will be related to noodles, so if you happen to name the Utonagan a noodle name you'll get some nice extra brownie points.
Some good noodle names would be located conveniently [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noodle]here,[/url] the only name off limits is Udon as that's the name the German Shepherd Chow has.

What do they like to do ;; Acorn's favourite thing to do is hunt leaves; big or small, green or red, round or pointed, she'll chase them for hours on end. She especially loves the crinkly leaves that pile up during Autumn, because of the sheer number of them and the satisfying noises they make when she pounces on them. Acorn also likes spending time snuggled up with people or other animals, though due to her energetic nature she sometimes finds it difficult to settle down enough to do this without annoying her snuggle-buddy with her restlessness.

soba loves to take trips to visit his dear friend more than anything, but if he had to pick something other than that for a thing he loves to do...
he loves running with horses! with his amount of energy, of course he loves to run, but running alongside a horse is his favorite. there's just something about the sound of a horse's hooves beating the ground as his paws do that gives him a thrill. though he is high in energy, he acts so relaxed when he can do this on a regular basis (which also explains why my music choices are more laid back). in fact, running with horses even helps him adjust to life without his friend always being by his side, as his lack of adaptability led to a bit of separation anxiety that seems to disappear when hes been distracted like this.

What do they like to do ;; Far likes to be with his owner in the park during the Summer and Spring months. HE likes to run around the park with the breeze blowing in his face. Plus, the chasing of the local squirrels is fun to him. During the Autumn and Winter months he loves to play in the snow at his home or just lay by the fire. He also likes to go with his owner to get firewood. He isn't one to want to be alone at all it seems.

howdy all! comin with some updates;

I've decided this contest is gonna end on the 21st, but if anyone needs more time closer to the end date I will be glad to look at giving extensions!
The German Chow is officially named Udon for reference; and I didn't realize but I ended up messing up and deleting some stuff that I didn't mean to delete, so his new separate reference is now located here! I mention this because I have some basic info about Udon up which may / may not help your forms :' >

Also, in response to some questions:
- Prettying up your form does not count as an extra! If you do not know how to code, I would suggest looking here as there's tons of helpful info here and some templates too
- The name does not need to be noodle related, if you feel there is a different name that suits the dog more feel free to use it! It was more of a personal preference, so it isn't a 100% requirement ^^
- I'm a moderator for the species and not an artist, that being said I don't make adopts / custom pairs; meaning this is probably one of the only adopts I'll be doing for the species unless I buy customs and make them myself in the future. That being said, any inquiries about customs will be redirected, so my apologies ; v ;
- If you so wish to have the Utonagan do some sort of sport or be registered with some sort of kennel, you're able to do so, just be sure to state the showname, the callname, and preferably a link to a kennel (I can show mine if confused about what I'm talking about); just note only call names (such as Udon) are registered with SCS :' >
- You do not have to be active with me should you win the adopt, I would prefer it but I'm not gonna like, dock anyone if they don't wanna speak with me much / be active, so don't worry about that!
- The Utonagan and Udon are not biologically related so their relationship is whatever you'd like it to be. They grew up together in the same home and are close to one another but otherwise nothing else is specific, I can discuss the relationship if needed after the contest ends
