Baxter feels like he is a rock in a world of fine diamonds. He feels odd, different, and not pretty. Whenever he sees other kalons, he can't help but think they're somehow more beautiful than himself.

How they feel about themself -- Nick quite likes himself though he wishes he could have been born a bit smaller seeing he dislikes being the same height as everyone for some reason he never could figure out. He loves the way he does his hair though he wishes he could grow it out but it gets to annoying to care for. He likes that he is a simple vanilla guy unlike his wild and unpredictable friends but wishes he could relate to other more. He thinks it's good his looks resemble his personality, simple and common yet unique.

He often feels very angry with himself. Why did he do that? how could he be so dumb? why couldn't he remember? how could he be so mean? he always felt like words would just stream out of his mouth, leaving behind a path of destruction is his wake. It left him feeling isolated and unwanted, with all the mean things he would blab without a thought. The things he's said bug him in the night, building up over the years and leaving every time he cruel jabbed at someone out of sheer boredom tearing up at his mind.
The thing is that most of his friends understand and don't care as much as he does about these things. but the feelings he has from these small moments really get to him. He will spend weeks barley talking to someone due to feelings of guilt over something he said months before. He feels unworthy of those close to him, and dark thoughts creep in of how they will leave his mean self for someone who is actually a good person.
His friends don't seem to notice too much. They will ask why he is suddenly quiet, being at least somewhat socially most of the time but with how often these shifts happen they don't notice too much. so many excuses just simply make it the norm for him. But these feelings gather in his chest, and he reads his books to let himself drift into the mind of the character, who doesn't have his issues, but faces their own and copes. He lets himself be immersed in a fantasy world where there is a problem and a solution, a path to get to the end goal.

Do you ever experience moments where the idea of life and being
able to move around at all just baffles you? Reid is a pretty normal
kal, but sometimes he just doesn't understand himself, or people in
general, at all. When he looks at others, they all seem to have
innate likes and dislikes, a certain group that just 'fits', a path
picked out in life, or a secure personality. They don't seem to be
bothered about how a bunch of chemicals, muscles, and electrical
impulses somehow create a fully-functioning consciousness.

When he looks at himself, he sees that he just kinda tries to go
along with what the people around him seem to think of him. He
doesn't really know what he wants to be or do, just what he really
doesn't want to do, and other than that, he's just kinda been on
the sidelines of life. He's not unhappy, per say, but he finds it
difficult to just live without trying to find the underlying meaning in
every little thing. Even in the act of examining his own actions, he
acknowledges that he's probably over-analyzing things and trying
too hard to seem interesting.

It shouldn't be so difficult for him to connect with others and make
friends, but it's been tricky. He's just been so introspective and
unmotivated in the past that he knows that he needs to try to seek
out others' company if wants to change - hopefully for the better.

Right now, he has two major faces. The one that he keeps to himself,
as it is his more cherished (and thus more vulnerable) side, is the one
that spends a lot of time thinking about the mysteries of life and
analyzing people's motives and behaviors. The face that he presents in
public is much more outgoing. While still a bit reserved, he has a laugh
on his lips and a sparkle in his eyes as he charms his peers with his wit
and chivalrous, helpful nature.

They seem to like that face well enough...

and he doesn't know how to feel about that.

Amphi is getting there in confidence, it's not easy to love yourself in today's society drowned by photoshop and perfect faces. Amphitrite is not a model nor are they exactly confident in their less than desirable looks, however, Amphi is a fake till you make it type of Kalon. By pretending to love themself, this kiddo has gained a lot of self-respect and love. Despite not loving himself entirely, Amphitrite is on the road to loving himself!
