Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

This darling was brought in from a big case that many shelters were involved in. We took in two of the dogs seized. The little Boykin already has a home and this little babe hopes to find one as well. They've obviously went through a lot, and as a result they're pretty skittish. The darling will need a loving hand to get them back to their best.

Personality:
Despite all she has been through Miracle seems confident and brave. She acts strong and puts up a bold front, but deep down she is a big mush and a real sweetheart, she just doesn't always know who she can trust. She is definitely a bit more dominant concerning other dogs. She isn't pushy about it, but refuses to let herself be pushed around. This may be because of her past, or because of her breed, or just her individual personality. She isn't overly social with other dogs but craves human love and affection. She loves long nature walks and romps in the woods. She is okay with cats and most other animals, though snakes seem to scare her a little. She is very scared of thunder and lightning.


Relationship with friend:

Miracle is very protective of her smaller friend. She would bare her teeth at anyone who got to close to 'her dog'. Though she liked to play rough, Miracle was always careful not to hurt her little friend. She would easily get jealous if her friend showed attention to another dog or even a person. Not being very social many were surprised at Miracle's loyalty and devotion to her companion.
