"Beat it!"
{Kimber's View}
A misunderstood lost foal in the midst of a sandstorm was the only thing which dared to roam around at that time. I watched from afar, my herd hidden behind me by the safety of an alcove which provided shelter. My heart was twisted in fear and remorse as I stood as still as a statue, not wanting to leave my herd nor ignore the foal. Shaking my mane which flew around my neck, clinging onto it like its life depended on it, I let out a bellowing neigh. Rearing up on my hind legs beckoning at the foal wildly. It seemed to understand and came racing over towards me. Its sides were heaving and fur matted with stray bushes and sand but its mane looked untouched. Pure beauty. Nipping at its hind gently, I ushered it towards my mares before looking back into the distance, scanning the blurry horizon for the sun which quickly disappeared under the wrath of the storm.
{Silky's View}
I don't remember how I joined the Sand-dune herd. I just know that I am different. My head is smaller and more defined, my legs are longer and I am faster but one feature stood out the most. My mane and tail. The lead stallion who goes by the name "Kimber" named me "Silky" after them. He said he had never seen a horse with such beauty as mine but I couldn't care less. My "beauty" doesn't protect me from the harsh words which are shot my way by the other yearlings. I learnt to protect myself from these words by keeping my distance, but when they intentionally seek me out I sometimes find I need to use my cunning intelligence to out-maneuver these slow, bulky bullies. One day I went too far, I was now two years old and "preparing" for heat season. Two colts and three fillies by the names of, {Colts to Fillies} "Asha", "Baxter, "Tillie", "Jess" and "Summer", came prancing over. Smirks on their faces as they noticed my lonely shape by the edge of the herd. I wasn't paying attention as they snuck up behind me then all of a sudden they started nipping me! Everywhere! My sides, my legs, my neck, they didn't care that they were hurting me! Something inside snapped, cold hard rage boiled in my eyes as a reared up and lashed out at Baxter. My hoof colliding with his shoulder. The nipping stopped as everyone froze, staring at me in shock. I took this moment to lash out at Summer and Jess. Managing to hit them both. Baxter had quickly recovered from my attack and charged at me when I was turned away. With my quick thinking and reflexes, I struck out with my hind-legs. My hooves hitting their mark on the colt's chest. I didn't care what happened next, it was all a blur. Mares rushed towards me, their anger and fear showing on their faces as they realized they needed to protect their foals from me. I was a danger and they needed to get rid of that. Leaping into a gallop, I was off, with an intent of leaving this herd in the dust. I never wanted to see them again.
SIlky is usually clear-headed and sly. She enjoys tricking stallions who think they have a chance with her. When she is in a sour mood, she lets everyone know it. Some say her eyes literally burst into flames if a stallion even thinks about approaching her. Ever since Silky left the Sand-dune herd, she has locked away her true feelings along with anything which could be used against her. The remains of her feelingless body is a hard shell which nothing but only the softest words could penetrate. Silky is very stubborn. She will not be bossed around or told what to do. She is very independant and did not live in a herd until she was captured by humans. She is practically unrideable with her wild spirit and will to be free. She is mostly left to roam the large open meadows which have but a small fence border which a pony could easily clear. Silky doesn't run away though, why would she when there is nothing left out there for her to find. She just needs someone to love and share her secrets with. Someone who she can finally put some trust in and let her feelings out which have been locked away for too long. Sadly, Silky is very picky about who she considers even her "friend" so becoming her mate would be unbelievably difficult.
