Random Fun Fact: Dalmatians are often seen pictured as the fire house mascot. This is because, historically, the firemen had horse drawn wagons and water tanks, and the Dalmatians are known carriage dogs. They would run between the front axels and help drive the horses forward and keep their pace moving. Once at the fire, the dogs stood guard over the horses and wagons. This is why Dalmatians are so high strung, they're bred to run all day beside the horses, and also why most Dals have an affinity for equines. (Sorry, hope you don't mind. I just had to share this interesting tidbit LOL)
