“Hey, loser, we’re going on a road trip.”

Dwynwen burst into reika’s bedroom, waking her up. Reika sent a tired glare to dwynwen. “What?” reika groaned out sleepily,
snuggling back into her covers and turning her back to dwynwen, trying to ignore her.

“You heard me. Get up, we’re going on a road trip.” heading towards reika’s bed, dwynwen dropped maps, guidebooks, and
other papers onto reika. Reika quickly turned towards dwynwen with another glare, but then turned her sleep-ridden eyes to
the papers dwynwen dropped.

“Wow.. this is the most planning i’ve seen you do since we met, dwyn.” the statement earned a playful punch to the shoulder
from dwynwen, but they both turned their attentions back to the papers soon.

“I’ve been working on it since, like, two.” dwynwen said, smirking as she puffed her chest out in pride. Reika smiled for a
second, happy that her friend had spent so long working on something. And then her eyes turned to the alarm clock next to
her bed, and her smile disappeared.

“DWYN IT’S THREE IN THE MORNING! GET OUT, I NEED SLEEP!”

A few hours after reika had forcefully removed dwynwen from her room so she could sleep, she woke up again to find dwynwen
on her couch, waiting for her.

“Oh, hey, rei. Ready for that road trip yet?” the casual question came, reika giving out a sigh in response. “Fine. Where are
we going, exactly? I’m still tired, you know..”

“I am so glad you asked..”

They’d been out on the road for a few hours now, after dwynwen had explained where they were going and reika got ready
to leave. It was a bit cramped in dwyn’s car with their bags, but things like this happened so often that the two were pretty
much used to it.

“Do you want to listen to the radio, rei? It’s a bit quiet in the car without music.” dwyn asked, finally speaking up about how
much the silence was driving her crazy. “Oh, sure. What station do you have it on?” reika said, prompting dwynwen to turn
on the radio which began to blast out loud christmas songs. “Rad.” dwyn smiled.

“Dwyn, it’s not even December yet..” reika said, looking at dwynwen with slightly accusatory eyes. “My gosh, you’re right
rei! Well, I guess, we’ll hAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS…” dwynwen snarkily replied, beginning to sing the song loudly and
off key. Reika rolled her eyes, but eventually she gave up and joined in singing with dwynwen.

The day had passed pretty quickly, and it was night now. Dwynwen kept her tired eyes on the road while reika dozed off in
the seat next to her, the radio muffling out soft christmas-y tunes. Dwyn silently hummed along as little flakes started to
form in the dark sky.

Dwynwen reached out to reika, tapping her shoulder and muttering out, “Rei, get up..”. Waking reika up, who then turned to
dwynwen. “It’s snowing” dwyn said while pointing up at the sky. Reika rolled her eyes at dwynwen, but then turned her eyes
up to the dark sky.

“Huh, I guess you’re right..”

Looking at the sky Travis sighed, thats how it always ended. A promise to one day meet, they lived on different planets for heavens sakes! Travis lived in a world completely made of water while Gaia lived on a world covered on a planet with land. The two planets despised each other so it would be difficult to meet if they ever did. To be honest it was a surprise how they originally met. Gaia was sneaking out they each met each other. After moving to his own house Travis wrote a letter that was never meant to be sent and put a random address to someone on Gaia's planet. He wrote a letter to vent out his feelings, he had just brok up with a girlfriend and wanted to get his feelings out. Travis's friend found it and gave it to delivery. It turns out the address he put in actually was a place where girl named Gaia, they soon became penpals and talked often. The eventually fell in love with each other but have never met. The world where Travis lived was called "Deli" weird name for a place thats covered in water. Travis flicked his tail once as his message was handed to the mail-kalon hoping she would get it soon. In the letter it read "Hello my lovely Gaia, I missed talking to you! Was on a trip with my friends but I was thinking of you the entire time. I hope this letter finds you safely, can't get caught can we? *Wink* Hope to see you soon! As always you're lovely Travis~." Always trying to keep in touch he touched where his heart was with a paw and looked down, closed his eyes and smiled. He could wait forever to see Gaia. It's of been a full year of letters to each other. He wanted call her or even text her but she didn't have a phone yet. Travis looked up and wondered aloud "I wonder when soon is..?" Tucking in for the night he smiled and fell asleep. The next day came swiftly like it always did. A knock awoke him, sleepily getting up the blue kalon rubbed his hair with his paws and stood up heading towards the front of house where the knock had originated from. Opening the door there was a letter laid neatly on his welcoming mat, it read "To Travis, 3245 Meteli, Town center" He reached for the letter quickly turning it over seeing a small stamp that sealed the letter. Eagerly he opened the letter and started to read it. "Hey! Turns out my father is heading to your planet for buisness related things and wants me to come! I can finally see you Travis! *Enter smile here*. I can't wait to meet you!" From Gaia. Travis smiled and let out a small shrill yell out of happiness, they would finally see each other. Who needed to wait forever when you could see each other in a week?
