What are Khimaira Friesians?     Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Snowman is the $80 champion! I just got done reading the book about him for the umteenth time and I am always captivated by his story. He was bought by a kill buyer in 1956, where Harry de Leyer found him. He bought the horse off of the trailer for $80, which was all he had brought with him. That ex plow horse turned out to be one of the greatest jumpers in history! He won the Jumping Triple Crown TWICE! I love that the story just goes to show that it doesn't matter your past, what matters is what you make of your FUTURE! You CAN do great things!

Cher Ami was a crucial part of World War I. Although it was just one of 600 pigeons that British breeders gave to the US Army Signal Corps (stationed in France), Cher Ami flew 12 important missions during 1918. At the Battle of the Argonne, Cher Ami saved 200 lives by carrying a message for the army to stop fire against their own corps on October 4, 1918 despite multiple injuries. This was his last flight and he got a wooden leg before dying within a year.

Nearby Llyn Barfog in Wales is a hoof-print etched deep into the rock "Carn March Arthur", or "Stone of Arthur's Horse", which was supposedly made by King Arthur's mare, Llamrai, when she was hauling the terrible Addanc, or "afanc" monster, from the lake.

Xiang Xiang became one of the most popular animals as the first giant panda to return to the wild after spending his whole life in captivity in 2006, at age 5. This was part of an effort to boost the giant panda population in the wild as they tend to thrive in captivity. Before his release, Xiang Xiang received extensive training and a radio collar for tracking. He sadly died within a year after a territorial fight or mating fight with other pandas.
