this kit was found abandoned on a chilly day of November, and is in need of a loving and supportive home.

they seem to be having some problems controlling their jewel powers: hallucinations and shadows!
their powers are strong, and they have the ability to cause hallucinations or use shadows to represent other simas' greatest fears, and have not been able to understand it enough to bring it under their control.

such a small kit needs someone who will help them cope with their powers and, not only that, love them unconditionally.

the parent(s) wanting to take this kit home must show me the love and devotion they want to provide.

guidelines;;

- quality is favored much more than quantity. every 250 words you may do 1 piece of art of any kind, every 2 panels in a comic equal 1 piece of art, and i recommend keeping your entire form around 3,000 words (creatively written titles such as "a glance into this meme lord's soul" count towards it), but you are not limited to that amount. just make sure you have more quality than quantity.

- extras are unlimited, but they must only pertain to the character development. you may only do art after you surpass 250 words, keep that in mind.

- if the adoptive parents/family members are owned by other users, they are allowed to assist you with your form.
(the parents dont HAVE to be considered mom/mom dad/dad mom/dad etc, they can be uncle or aunt or something)

- the kit's powers are shadow/hallucinations, and their powers, when unintentionally used, are most commonly their own fears/worries.
however, sometimes they will form from other simas' fears as well- but only if they are noticeable to this kit.

- the adoptive parent(s) can be single / married adults, and/or be PPS.

- it is preferred that any art you make/order goes to the winner, but i can't force you.

- extensions are allowed to be requested near the final week of the competition.

Personality Prior ;; Sucrose is a scaredy-cat who runs at every opportunity. He has absolutely no 'fight' reflex, being all flight since he was first abandoned-- this orphan kit doesn't trust easily and probably never will. Sucrose was abandoned in his sentient memory-- he recalls the sting of being left behind, and his mind may never fully heal. He doesn't remember their faces-- just their expressions, their disdain and discontent with him-- and so they walked away. Sucrose is quiet, generally timid and often doesn't speak above a hushed whisper or a dull whimper. Often he's seen as pathetic by those around him for being so introverted and nearly silent, though he doesn't much mind. He prefers to keep to himself, often off in the woods looking up at the night sky. Sucrose is a damaged child, and because of this there's a lot of discourse in his mind and a lot of scarring in his heart.

Relationship with Hector ;; Hector is such a strong, confrontational figure that at first Sucrose was taken aback by him, shocked and aghast at the startlingly proud and boisterous individual, who seemed not to care for anyone more than himself. Hector took interest in the child-- saying he saw something odd about the kid that was something he'd seen only once before-- some trait in the way he looked at the world, some emotion in those black eyes. The kit was hesitant to even approach Hector, much less submit to his care. Hector drew close to him and his jewel reacted without Sucrose's thinking-- projecting an image of Hector. The shadowy sima glared at its material counterpart with malicious intent, and for a moment Sucrose was frozen in anticipation and horror. Hector's paw cut through the shadow with one swipe and he eyed the kit through the mist of what had once been a fearful nightmare. "That's nifty." Hector had said, "Now I'm really fascinated." Seeing that Hector was the only one thus far who hadn't abandoned him after seeing the spectral entities comprised of his own fears-- Sucrose stayed with Hector, who could shield him from his own fears. Now he follows Hector along, hesitantly warming up to him more-- at Sucrose's current stage he's still somewhat fresh from abandonment, so he's still experiencing issues with Hector-- but he's finding himself drawn to Hector for safety and comfort-- something new he's never experienced prior to meeting Hector.

Companionship ;; Hector and Sucrose live in Hector's house-- which is somewhat dated and decorated as one would expect from a warrior. Hector's combative past is one of the reasons Sucrose preceived him to be so terrifying prior-- his large size and muscular build made Sucrose fear the worst, considering all the people he'd met since his abandonment thus far had treated him like a stray dog to kick and batter before wandering off and away on their merry lonesomes to their set tables and warm beds-- but Hector was a different case. Upon bringing Sucrose into his home Hector said he was welcome to have whatever he really wanted, outside weaponry and Hector's own sleeping chamber. Sucrose was taken aback, but Hector didn't seem to notice as he proceeded to inform Sucrose about some simple rules to heed-- curfews, things he simply shouldn't touch for his own wellbeing and the like. Sucrose chose the bedroom next to Hector's on the off chance his jewel reacted to a nightmare-- he could slip into Hector's room and have him disspell the night terrors.

Coping with his power ;; Sucrose has a large number of fears-- from the dark to insects-- which he simply cannot help nor control. The initial abandonment left him even more afraid, and even when he was with his brith family, they simply had no time for him or his petty fears, and they brushed it off as childish idiocy for him to be so paranoid and disillusioned with his surroundings. They laughed at him for being so silly as to fear unknown variables-- almost pitied him for being so terrified of things he couldn't know-- and they tried to force his jewel dormant with threats of getting rid of the worthless child until one day they stayed true to their word. This is where his power really went haywire-- without anyone, Sucrose had only his jewel-cast delusions to talk to and confide in, though they tormented him and pestered him at every interval, between begging them to stop he was left to remember they were all he had. When Hector made him realize he didn't need that sort of abusive relationship in his life-- Sucrose began to distance himself from the spectres his jewel created. He had Hetor to send them away if they were awful to him-- and so his coping began. Hector made sure to tell Sucrose he had no need to fear the jewel's illusions, and that if Sucrose were strong it would have no fear to feed on in the first place. Hector also left the kid a night light-- which Sucrose would curl up by late into the night if Hector were soundly asleep, and the shadows had returned to him. "I'm not afraid of you." He'd whisper, a bit of a bite in his tone-- "I can't be."

Life stages ;;
- EARLY -
Before meeting Hector Sucrose was constantly scared, running and hiding. He was constantly plagued by the illusions of his jewel and felt like they were his only comfort-- his family held disdain for him, and so did the shadows, but at least the shadows were his own-- always with him, never able to leave him behind. Once his family left him, his scaredy-cat attitude only intensified-- he feared betrayal more and more, being inevitably left alone at the end of each day-- he soon lost hope in himself.

- ENTER HECTOR -
After Hector entered his life some odd years after he was left to fend for himself Sucrose began to drift from the shadows, straying closer to Hector and his promise of light, confidence and courage. It seemed that Hector, who had prior cared for no one, was starting to harbor affection for Sucrose-- honest compassion and empathy. Perhaps it was their first encounter, but it seemed Hector was the only one who cared beyond simply feeling bad for the kit-- the only one who acted on his feelings. Sucrose warms up to Hector with each passing day, and the two slowly start to trust eachother. Mutually they'd been damaged before by different things and left unsure how to feel in regards to trusting again-- but they slowly fall for eachother in their own ways, back into the lull of trust and security. Sucrose sleeps in the room next to Hector, has a room decorated with silly toys, blankets and a large variety of night lights-- his favorite being the one that casts light in the shape of stars across his ceiling.

- ADOLESCENCE -
Having been with Hector for a good while, Sucrose is beginning to mature and be generally less paranoid. The jewel spectres don't scare him as much as they used to-- and with Hector as a strong, now true father figure, Sucrose is beginning to develop his own real courage much like his parental figure. Sucrose has started attending school, much to his own dismay, and Hector tutors him on his bad subjects when he knows the information himself. Hector is still somewhat standoff-ish, but he's closer to Sucrose and is willing to share more of himself with the kid. Sucrose and Hector bond over sparring practice-- Sucrose having been slowly learning the ways of warriors from Hector after taking fascination in his decorative weaponry-- and it's helping him bolster himself further. Sucrose is still a very timid child, easily flustered and embarrassed-- but school and training are putting him out of his shell slowly, inching him into society. His room is more tidy now but he still has the night lights, and he professes he plans never to get rid of them.

- ADULTHOOD -
By this point Hector has trained Sucrose fully in every way he knows, and Sucrose has found a pride within himself that's made brighter by his capabilities. He knows there are strong things within him-- elements that give him what he needs to defend himself, to feel confident and to know he is worthy of love. Sucrose is a proud man much like Hector, but still kind and compassioante-- an empathic individual who's often looking out for others. Sucrose feels inclined to help others and is always cautious to make sure others are doing well-- or if they're not, he tries to aid in any way he's capable. He still has his silly nightlights and he clings to the light as much as ever-- the illusions of his jewel come out rarely now, as Sucrose has found his own method of control-- a lack of fear. He's still afraid of the same things he was in his youth-- but now, being more bold and happy with himself and his life-- the shadows can't abuse his mental weakness to seep through into his world, which now holds so much promise. Sucrose can use his powers to make illusions aside from his fearful ones now-- simple, smaller shapes and forms which humor him with shadow puppet-esque displays. Sucrose matures to be a paranormal investigator of sorts-- understanding the simpler things left unseen-- similar to his own jewel-made spectres, and he seeks to understand why there are the bizarre supernatural aspects to the sima world that there are. Things such as reapers, ghouls and flat out ghosts confuse and baffle him-- he wants to know more, and he wants to find more simas who are like himself and Hector-- so he's set out to discover the abnormalities in the world, taking odd jobs for spare cash on his way. With Hector's support, Sucrose is out and about to travel and discover-- to experience the things that make the sima world so strangely unique.

- Was abandoned at a very young age, lacks a proper understanding of speech because of it
- Use a lot of sounds when "talking" and is quite expressive through them
- Terrified of the dark, panics easily (whilst still young, gets better at dealing with it once older)
- Somewhat learns to speak at an older age, speaks in a slightly off English due to Kohtaus really not being the best English teacher (also tends to mix in quite a lot of finnish words into their speech due to the random words that slip from Kohtaus, especially swear words)
- Use of glass jar to seal away the "monsters" originating from Koi's jewel, works mostly, this due to the belief of a kid.
- Once she is old enough to understand that the jar has nothing to do with the "monsters" being fended off she's mature enough to have some resemblance of control.
- As a grown up she still has some minor problems controlling her powers or example in situations of intense emotions, especially fear. Is mostly able ot keep a hold of her powers.
