She didn't willingly get adopted, though, she ended up hurting her leg badly and was brought to a vet. Instead of releasing her, they assumed she was a pet because of her rather tame nature and lack of noise or reaction, so they waited for an owner to claim her then when no one showed up they adopted her out. Although it was against her will, she enjoys her life in the city. Ophelia was so lonely in the wild; she occasionally saw other Simas but none truly stuck around.
