Username: Isabella45 (Partnering with DauntlessDivergentC!)
Show Name: A Worthy Betrayel
Barn Name: Renegade
Personality: Renegade is a little wild, a lot rebellious, and less than one hundred percent responsible. He is very clever and tends to be a bit of a trickster.
He likes being the center of attention and is not terribly modest. He is a silver-tongued flirt most of the time. You know when he is sincere if he suddenly
isn't so smooth or clever. Despite seeming like a joker and a bit of a wild card Renegade can be very loyal to those he really cares about.
He tests his limits for sure, but when he really wants to keep a good relationship with someone he works hard to do so. Which brings us to another thing.
Once, believe it or not, he almost got serious about someone.
Firefly was a feisty mare who matched his fire and made him feel alive and wonderful. But she thought he was just flirting with her like he had with countless others. Renegade couldn't find a way to explain the truth and he had no idea how to admit his true feelings, so he lost her.
He is a very hard worker. His carefree personality doesn't mean he is a slacker. When he had a job to do he does it, no matter what it is.
He also appreciated nature.
Sometimes he actually gets tired of being surrounded by the other horses or the center of attention and likes to escape to the peace of a secluded meadow or forest.
For a horse so open about his emotions, he is awfully quiet about his past.
He never speaks of his days as a combat horse or any other part of his past.
He doesn't really believe that other horses can accept him for what he really is. He is a big talker, but deep down he has his share of insecurities, one of them being that those he trusts with a piece of himself are bound to hurt him in the end.
This is part of why he has never been in a serious romantic relationship.
He has a reputation as a battle scarred bachelor stallion with zero interest in romance.
He has a high level of patience, but if you push him past his level he can also have a temper the size of a mountain and he will not mince words.
Relationship with Brother:Renegade is definitely the wild one.
Veteran is always trying to get him to calm down and think more before he acts. While Renegade appreciates that his brother cares . . . He often wishes he would just trust him.
On the other hoof, Veteran is probably wise to not 'just trust him', and Renegade knows it.
Even if Veteran has sound advice to give, and Renegades knows it is sound, his dislike of taking orders tends to make him disagree or try to oppose Veteran, even if he knows Veteran is right. He doesn't do this to be mean, it is just his nature. He likes his independence and will fight for it. Sometimes he plays a bit outside of the rules though, much to Veteran's dismay.
He has been in trouble more than once and Veteran has had to bail him out.
Renegade is not really open about his feelings. But deep down it really helps him to know that no matter what he does Veteran will stick with him and try to help him, even if he is making a mistake or being a total jerk.
Even though Renegade doesn't always agree with his brother's 'play by the rules chivalry' type thing, he admires his dedication to what he believes is right.
It was Vetran's strong beliefs that made it hard for him when Renegade began to rebel against their human handlers in the army.
Before he was 'kicked out' of the army Renegade frequently escaped the fences and ropes that they used to hold him in and took long runs to calm himself. He was tired of the routine he was forced to follow. He wasn't scared and didn't mind the fight, but when the action was over and he was tied up once more or left loose but expected to stay nearby, he became crazy. He even preferred marching for miles in the rain then standing still, waiting for something to happen. It was this behavior that earned him his name. Eventually he was labeled as a runaway and sent back to his home to be re-sold somewhere where he could run and be free.
That is how he came to Rosewood, and the reason he needs to re-think his life.
While Renegade has a definite idea of how he wants to live and what he wants to do, he has no current goal in his life and no sticking beliefs beyond his beliefs in freedom and independence.
Sometimes he kind of wishes Veteran would just find a nice mate and settle down. He even tried to get his brother to notice a sweet mare the clearly was interested in him. But it didn't work. Vetran was oblivious. But maybe if Vetran had a mate he would worry less about Renegade.
But, Veteran seems to think it his sole responsibility to care for Renegade, and while Renegade mostly rejects these attempts at guardianship, he appreciates that his brother cares enough to try.
