- "Yes hello?" You answer as your phone rang early in the morning. On the other side of the phone was a man who proclaimed that he had a wild stallion that he could no longer care for. He described the horse as "Green as they come" and very "Wild". You decide to take up the challenge and take the stallion off the mans hands.
Driving up to the small barn that was located not far from your own stables, you noticed a few plump horses grazing in the far pastures. Standing out front of the small structure was an old man in his late 60's. He waved to you hastily, as you parked your truck and trailer outside of a round pen that sat next to the barn.
"Welcome. I hope this isn't too much trouble but my wife has begged me to get rid of this stallion. She worries that he will injure me and she does not wish to become a widow anytime soon."
"Its not a problem sir. Where is said stallion?" You asked with curiosity. The old man told you to wait there as he walked into the back of the barn.
"The beast will come through the stall and into the round pen. Once hes out i'll need your help loading him into your trailer." You quickly nod before moving to the edge of the round pen. Suddenly a loud whinny breaks through the air. You look around and spot the horse dart out from the barn and into the small pen. The old man shuts off the opening to stall so the stallion is locked into the round pen.
"Easy boy. It's alright." You quietly coax the wild mustang. His mane and tail disheveled, knots filling a large portion of his under mane. His body was littered in healed scars, making you wonder what he'd done to earn them. Suddenly you notice his panicked eyes, he looks around with caution, making sure he wouldn't get hurt. After a few minutes and bribing with loads of treats, the stallion loaded into the trailer.
"Thank you so much for taking him. I wish you luck." The old man smiles before heading back into the old barn. You climb into your truck and take off down the old dirt road.
