So we got my mom a bearded dragon for her classroom around Christmas and he ended up growing too big for her to handle. She's now quite afraid of it and I am the only one who holds it, and I am leaving soon, so we are now rehoming him. My mom, still wanting a little pet for her classroom, heard about Conure's and then went and did research. Now, we are going to get a young Conure, either a Jenday or Sun, though we are leaning more towards the Jenday. I am very excited for this as these birds are complete sweet hearts and I feel as though my family will get along with one very well. In honor of this event, I decided to make a Conure viscet. I was tempted to make a Jenday, but the Suns colors are so vibrant and lovely that I just couldn't resist. It is PPS because the Conure we will be getting will be only two weeks old, so it makes sense, haha.



Now for the competition.
The goal of the competition is to tell me about their favorite item in 500 words or less. The item doesn't have to be a toy and can be a living thing if you wish. The goal is creativity!

Brazil, He loves anything to do with flying! He loves airplanes the most though, and his dream is to be a airplane driver! So his favorite thing is an airplane! He collects toy airplanes, his room is full of airplanes, airplanes are his life! He has never been on a real airplane, but that's his dream. He loves to watch airplanes go by in the sky, he loves the noises, he loves everything! He has a little toy model of an airport in his room and he loves to play with it all day! Personality!
Hazel's quite the viscet. Despite her tiny size,
she's the fiend of the teachers, causing havoc
with her ever present rubber band (more on that later).
She's a risk taker who always has an outlandish
plan to save the day. However, like everyone, she has her flaws.
Hazel is always the center of her universe and,
though not purposefully, she often
doesn't spare a thought for anyone but
herself. She's also greedy and cannot
bring herself to overcome a petty insult,
no matter how long ago it was.

Quirks/ random facts!
-Whenever Hazel's annoyed, she starts taking apart
and putting back together all her pens.
-She has a scrapbook collection of all the letters
teachers have sent home to her parents asking
them to please do something to rein in your child
-The only soda Hazel can stomach is grape fanta
-Hazel can touch her tongue to her nose
-She's absolutely terrified of giraffes
-Hazel will throw a fit if anyone dares
give her cooked carrots. She claims
that they're "mushy and disgusting"

Favorite Item: Hazel's favorite item in the world is her trusty rubber band. She doesn't utilize her rubber band for more conventional uses, like tying up a bag of potato chips or tie-dying shirts. Rather, she's an expert rubber band shooter. You see, from the moment her older brother taught her how to shoot a simple rubber band at the age of seven, she's been hooked. She's tinkered with infinite ways to fire a rubber band until she perfected it to her liking and all the years of practice have given her deadly aim. If you're her target, beware!

As you probably don't know, I'm currently the owner of one green cheek conure. For this extra, I just wanted to say good luck on your journey with your bird and give you (and your mom) a couple tips! Firstly, as you probably know from your research, birds need fresh fruits and veggies daily. However, sometimes they aren't so keen to actually eat the veggies (just like a child refusing to eat their broccoli). I find a good way to get my bird to eat them is to either chop whatever it is up really finely or put a bunch of vegetables in a food processor. Perhaps, your mom could also have her students bring in fresh, bird-friendly fruits and vegetables for it to eat? Also, depending on the kid's ages, they (or you) can hand-make toys out of paper towel rolls, newspaper, cardboard, and other bird-friendly things. That way your mother won't have to keep on buying toys. Anyways, good luck again with the conure and I hope everything turns out well c:
