Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

Yo! Im Shady, a new artist for SCS. Ill be doing designs based off of real life animals and situations that I come across every day at my job in the humane society shelter. Hope you enjoy them!

" We found this giant dog in a slobbery half-eaten plastic carrier outside the front door of the shelter this morning. We have a drop off area for things like strays and such, but this is just plain abandonment. Oh well, the pup is here with us now, so lets find them a good home, eh?
Were officially listing him as a 'Wild Mix' but were fairly certain theres some Rhodesian ridgeback in there, most likely crossed with a coyote. Coydogs are becoming more and more prevalent in the dog fighting world so we can only imagine what this poor kid has been through just to be ditched here like this. They might seem a little mean at first but honestly theyre just a tad skittish. Grab a toy for them to play with, Im sure theyll show you their good side! "

Design Note: The fur on the back of their neck is always raised, as per the ridgeback part of their breed. Theres some thin white flecking all down their spine, emphasizing the ridge. They also have bi-eyes, one gold and one brown.

Ollie's favorite toy is a torn up and slobbered on stuffed squirrel. It's pretty obvious that it gets a bunch of use. This toy is his favorite since it brings a feeling of comfort and yet it's super fun to play with. Oliver needs his squirrel in his crate for it to be possible for him to sleep and doesn't show any interest in other plush toys. Maybe it's his wild instinct and need to hunt squirrels? Or maybe it's just the sentimental value it holds.

Favorite Toy: Banner's favorite toy ever is this fox with a squeaker inside of it. The fur looks more like a hedgehog, and it's orange with white cheeks and black eyes with white dots and eye whites, and black nose. It also has white inside the ears, and to clarify the white on the cheeks goes up over the eyes too. The body fur, where it looks like a hedgehog, is white with orange under.

Sucre's favourite dog toy is the Hurley.
If somebody with a strong enough arm is throwing it, the Hurley can
go great distances. Sucre very much enjoys running, like any dog should,
and having to run to pick it up, go back to the thrower
and wrestle around with it can keep him entertained for hours.

Favorite Toy: Micahs favorite toy is a braided rope loop. Its a faded blue in color and a little worn. Its fibers are tied together in a way to make sure it will never be anything but a loop and is slightly stiff. Its perfect for playing tug o war or even throwing as a make shift frisbee. Its also large enough that Micah can slip it over her head and carry it like a collar wherever she goes.

Kaito's favorite toy is a small, stuffed lamb. He carries it with him wherever he goes, and will not hesitate to snap at anyone who attempts to take it. As a result, it doesn't get washed often and tends to smell.

bounding down the Isles of the supermarket, Kalvin couldn't contain his excitement. he knew he wasn't really allowed in the building but his shiny new human companion had explained to the manager of the place and she had made an exception. obviously, he thought, who could say no to me? Whilst the woman who brought him here hurried to keep up with him, his slender legs easily slipped and slid away from her. he was following his large, twitching nose eagerly. he did not know his destination. he just ran. ran, that is, until he heard it; the high pitched squueeeeeaaaak that made his ears perk up and a low growl begin in his throat.
