Story: The stallion's previous owner loved chocolate and they practically always had some on them. Although they carried around so much of it that they easily left some behind them wherever they went without even knowing it, including at the barn. Usually another boarder at the stables would have noticed and put the chocolate in their locker, but that only happens when someone finds the sweets. And the stallion is a bit of a restless soul who likes to get into things. Whether if it's your pocket or other horses hay and feed buckets. He also is a smart cookie and knows how to unlock his stall door, so on particular days when he becomes too bored, he will make a great escape. Which doesn't mix too well together when his curiosity gets the best of him. On the same day his owner had forgotten about a bag of chocolate in the feed room, the stallion had gotten loose and went on a little adventure. Before anyone noticed his escape, or the chocolates for that matter, he had made it into the feed room for a snack. The bag of chocolate had an enticing smell which leered the stallion over and within seconds he was eating them. When someone finally noticed his absence, they found him having a severe reaction to the chocolate inside the feed room. They called the vet and the owner immediately so that the stallion to receive the proper help. The stallion was lucky to have survived and is going through recovery, but he is still dealing with some minor kidney problems. His owner thought it to be best if he went up for adoption because they knew the stallion's life would always be at risk due to their forgetfulness and chocolate addiction. The owner loved him dearly and wanted to see him to well in life, you know the saying that if you love something some times you have to let it go. That's what the owner had to do. The stallion ended up getting adopted by a person who promised to be able to take care of the stallions needs, kidney problems and all. They renamed the big boy to "Trufa", because trufa is the Spanish word for truffle. This was for two reasons, they knew of the stallion's experience with it's previous owner and they never wanted Trufa to go through this again. The second reason is because the stallion's coat color does look like a chocolate truffle. Trufa resembles the promise they had to the stallion's previous owner and a promise they also made to themselves.
