Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

There was a secret, a betrayal, a murder, then, a disappearance. Little Atlas, who was about 9 or 10 when this all happened, had a friend she trusted enough to tell a secret she had never told anyone. Her friend broke the promise to keep the secret, and betrayed Atlas by telling everyone. Atlas was short tempered when she was younger, so she quickly grew furious at her friend. They had to walk home together that day, but neither made it back. The mothers of the girls were terrified when their daughters didn't come home and demanded town started a search for them. Within a few hours they found one of the girl's dead body, but Atlas was never seen in that town again.

p e r s o n a l i t y ;

Atlas’s outer personality shows her as a kalon who scares you just to get stuff she needs. With her mysterious smile and manipulative words, most kalons don’t want to be near her and try to avoid her if they see her. Shes a very quick thinker and can outthink almost anyone. To make herself look more mysterious and creepy, at night she almost always wears an evil grin. Once you get past this outer layer of her personality, Atlas is nice to be around. Shes kind to her friends, and loves to make them smile by telling jokes. Shes very cheery around her friends to help keep their spirits high. She has a secret love for baking and making tea that she has only told to Jourdemayne because she was the only one to get past her outer shell.

During the day Atlas doesn't interact with many other kalons. She's usually found at her house sleeping or, a few times a week, she goes over to Jourdemayne's house to hang out and just relax with her friend. She doesn't go to town often, but when she does it is tricky because many kalons dislike her. To make sure she won't be recognized, she wears a strange disguise. To hide her horns she gets incredibly long wigs and styles them in insane ways to cover them up. To conceal her fur she wears a dark vail over her face and any random clothes. At night Atlas goes out into the forest near her house and finds lost and tired people to manipulate. She talks to them and says creepy things to scare them and get what she wants through "deals". Atlas will word things in weird ways to confuse the kalon she's talking with and get lots of money for doing a very simple task in return. She spends most of her nights doing this or just wandering around the forest enjoying nature.

Jourdemayne is Atlas's best friend, and one of the only people Atlas trusts. They met when Jourdemayne was going out at dusk to gather some supplies from the forest for her majick. Atlas wandered over to her to try to manipulate her, but was unsuccessful. Jourdemayne's wise mind was able to out think and confuse Atlas, and Atlas was amazed. They started talking and soon became great friends. They visit each other often, and dispite the differences in their personalities the two get along very well. When they see each other they like to experiment tea and add new herbs and spices to try and get the best flavor possible. They also love to walk around the forest together and talk about anything theyve been doing recently, or anything that just randomly starts a conversation.

Many of the animals in the forest near Atlas's house fear her. They have seen the way she acts around kalons and don't want her to treat them that way. Other animals don't mind her and just think of her as any other kalon. She loves animals and would never want to hurt them, but because they are afraid of her she doesnt see them that often. Atlas has never had any pets, but if she were to get one she would love to have a rabbit because their calm and friendly nature would make them pleasant to be around.
