Cairo is a slick-looking dude who works as a bartender in a decent-sized city (after dark), can be described as stoic, and wears glasses. He's also the type of guy who, when faced with a problem, will endeavor to solve it. Rowdy customers? Learn a bit of Judo in case it's the bouncer's night off. Hinge-pin on the front door broke? Jam the blade of a screwdriver into the slot so the darn thing will actually work until you can get to the hardware store. Simple. He's also an aspiring chess champion. During his shift, he leaves a chessboard out on the bar as an open challenge to anyone who walks in. If they can beat him, he'll give them a drink on the house (limit of two per customer). Although he rarely has to make good on that promise. And if he wins... he'll most likely rub it in your face. Of course, the one thing about Cairo that really seems to annoy people is his passive-aggressive streak. He'll hedge around, avoid the subject, hint like crazy, and do everything BUT come out and ask for what he wants. Until the person he's talking to either cracks and gives him what he wants, gets annoyed and walks off, or gets so horribly confused that Cairo sighs and gives up.
Wissenschaft is a fairly disheveled-looking technophile who makes a living by running his very own 'fix-it' shop out of his back room. He'll take on jobs ranging from perpetually cold toasters and blown lamps to virus-infected laptops and PSPs that need their innards resoldered. He'll even do temperamental vacuum cleaners and stereos with broken knobs! If it runs on electricity, chances are that Wissen can fix it... or even modify it to be more efficient. As such, he usually sports a pair of old, brown leather work gloves which he wears to protect himself from sharp wires and electric shocks - although he does have a couple of scars on his paws and forearms from before he started wearing them (and from when he forgets them). The only things that can distract him from his work are his children, for whom he'll gladly set down his screwdriver and pick up a paper hat... as long as he has no pressing deadlines. He'll even take the time to explain what he's doing in the simplest of terms for a curious young onlooker, and is positively giddy when London wants to help out. His kids are at the center of his world! Nevertheless, Wissen is by no means a slacker when it comes to discipline. When he says 'no', he means it, and his kids know it. Yet he always has a good reason for doing so. An electronics workshop can be a dangerous place after all!
London is a very imaginative little boy who lives with his father Wissenschaft and shows an aptitude for origami. He occasionally spends a couple of days with his other dad, Cairo. When he's not watching his 'Fraggle Rock' DVDs or reading 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' out loud to anyone who will listen, he likes to run around pretending that he's the king of his very own country where everyone and everything is made of paper.... with the exception of bubbles, because he likes to blow them, and the little silver fish that swim through the air. Which he insists are really tasty. Even his crown (that he made himself and refuses to take off) is made of paper! Meanwhile, Wissenschaft is a duke and a wizzard (yes - with two Z's!) and his advisor, who happens to come from lands far to the west, while Cairo is a knight and an adventurer and another advisor who hails from the east. Whenever London can rope his dads into his game!
