Naraku... The young man trapped in stone, his body petrified for hundreds of years under a powerful magic. "Protect it... Protect it all... Years from know we won't be here, but... You will." was the last think the boy had heard, before feeling his body become encased in rock. Though he wasn't conscious of time while in this state, it felt as if an eternity passed before finally the magic began to weaken, and he was able to break free. The process was slow, and Naraku was scared and confused. His body ached from the lack of movement from those hundreds of years, and to top it off, it seemed like everything he knew was no longer around. The very house he had been kept in for centuries was crumbling all around him, and the forest seemed unrecognizable to him.

His mind stayed unchanged, memory of what his father had said before spell fresh in his mind. "Protect it all..." the words hung in his ears and seemed to echo. He knew what they contained, though not being specifically told so. The power his father spoke of was a dark magic. The same magic he used to trap Naraku. He knew that if anyone else were to find what his father had hid, they were potentially extremely dangerous... Slowly, Naraku picked himself up from his daze and began to search through his crumbling house, first the place he had been told it would be, then in a panic in other places. They were gone, all of them were gone."Documents, ancient artifacts that hold great power... Protect them." He was dizzy with worry at this point, though he knew he had to keep his cool. In this confusing world he would search... And it occurred to him he would have to live in this confusing world as well.

Cautious, curious, and confused are good words that would describe Naraku. He was afraid in this new world, but knew he had to adapt. Before being trapped in stone, Naraku was a calm and collected young man; quite wise for his age. Most of his time was spent writing and studying fish that lived in a pond nearby. This mostly helped to relax him, and he had quite the interest in water and aquatic animals. He wasn't exactly one who was very good at interacting with others, mostly because where he lived was largely secluded and he never interacted with many other Kalons than his family. It was his father's preference to stay that way, due to secrets and other mysteries they held. It seemed dark magic was his father’s obsession, though much to Naraku's dismay. He was never really able to speak out, and instead stayed timid and quiet, even in crucial situations.

"Recently, an ancient statue from the rural town of Inaba was found smashed to pieces, and the house in which it stood looked disturbed." Pelli's ear twitched at the sound of the T.V. she was walking past. As she looked over, she saw the picture of the statue, a few lichens here and there showing it's age. It looked to be a young man, his hands in front of his face as if he was scared. Though... The most interesting part had to be his tail. It looked like that of a dragon's and it was intricately carved... A bit too intricately. "Way to waste such a beautiful statue..." Pelli muttered with a frown. She would give a lot to be able to make something that beautiful. But, there was no use dwelling on it now. Turned out she was heading to Inaba anyway, so she could just check it out then.

Upon meeting Pelli (and getting past her and his confused state), Pelli realized Naraku's situation. Though she didn't exactly believe it at first, she began to understand. Due to not wanting Naraku wandering around on his own because of his lack of knowledge, Pelli decided it would be best to stay with him for the time being. In their time together, she taught him everything he needed to know... Mostly everything at least. Things like technology and about how the world is now, and even a bit about her travels.

Though, he couldn't stray away from what he had to do. The documemts were still missing, and he couldn't forget what power they held. Though it was even more overwhelming information for Pelli, she decided she should just trust him. Teaching others art would have to wait for awhile. And besides, it didn't seem like Naraku was very artistic anyway.
