novibat name:: Zara
novibat gender:: Female
one extra of your choice:: Zara is a quiet, rather standoffish novibat. She can be rather antisocial and takes a long time to warm up to others. Her greeting if choice is usually a rude or sarcastic comment and it often seems as if her mouth has no filter at all. Once Zara warms up to someone, she is marginally more polite and willing to at least try getting along with them. However, she is unwilling to change herself for everybody else and holds firm to her beliefs that everyone should be allowed to freely express themselves. Zara gets along very will with other bats who have a sarcastic sense of humor and can spend hours just joking around with them. She also likes puns, the really lame and cheesy kind that make other bats sigh in pain from the amount of pathetic in one sentence. Often times, Zara doesn't even notice how lame her puns really are though and ends up laughing like an idiot at what she considers a witty sense of humor.
Quite surprisingly, Zara is actually a really good friend once you win her over. She is loyal and always happy to help a friend out in their time of need. Rather than her usual rudeness, Zara's friends are usually greeted with a bad pun or a friendly wave and smile from her. There aren't a whole lot if things that truly make Zara happy but her friends are one of them and she will go out of her way to make them happy in return. She also really loves cats and gardening but not a lot of other bats know that.
Zara is deathly afraid of wasps and goes into full on panic mode whenever one is near. Even if she cannot see it, the buzzing noise alone will set her off. During these times of panic, Zara will often run away from the wasp at top speed and hide in the nearest available place, even if that place is behind a fellow novibat. More than once she has done something stupid trying to get away from a wasp and even endangered someone else in her panic. Usually, the panic passes quickly and Zara pretends it never even happened in the first place. Sometimes however, she is unable to calm down without help and ends up dragging a friend off to get some ice-cream and a movie to settle her nerves.
As a novibat who loves rain, Zara can often be found sitting outside on a rainy day. She finds peace in the sound and feel of the rain on her fur, and loves how wasps seldom fly during it. When she comes inside after a storm, Zara is usually quite cold and ends up making herself some hot cocoa as a way of warming up and snuggles into a soft blanket with for a nap. Once her fur finally dries out, Zara usually ends up going back outside to tend her gerden and enjoy the smell of wet grass.
Story:: Sunlight flickered through the trees and a pleasant breeze was blowing. The birds sang joyfully as I worked, carefully tending the garden I took pride in. The new seeds had taken well and were growing into healthy prouts, full of potential to become great plants. The few weeds that had been there now laid in a pile off to the side, having been quickly and forcefully pulled from the bed. I was humming contentedly while watering my newly weeded plants when I heard it, that awful sound. Buzzz. It was a wasp and it was flying right near me! Not just any wasp either, a yellow jacket. They are the evilest of the evil when it comes to wasps and I'd rather face a herd of charging cattle than one of these beats. However, since it was only one, maybe I'd be okay. One wasp can't be that hard to avoid right? Wrong! All it took was one wrong move, a simple misstep on my part before everything went to pot. I had tried to ignore the wasp, really I did but I couldn't help but move when I buzzed right past where I was working. How was I supposed to know there was a nest nearby? Well needless to say they were mad. Very Mad. I had only a few options to escape before they would close in on me so I needed to plan this carefully. The first option was run like crazy and hope I could reach the house. Not the best choice since the house was a good distance away and I likely wouldn't make it. Option 2 was head for the nearby lake and jump in, hiding underwater until they passed. This was a more doable plan than number 1 but if it failed, I'd be both stung and soaked. The final choice was to lock myself in the garden shed and hope they went away in a timely manner. I wouldn't get stung with this option but I also might end up waiting for hours. I guess option 2 it is then. Turning quickly, I ran towards the lake at top speed, making all kinds of sharp turns to divert the wasps. Once I got close to the shore, I jumped cannon ball style into the water. It was cold. Not cold to the point of getting sick but cold enough to be unpleasant at the least. It worked though. The wasps eventually gave up and I was able to get out of the water. I made my way back into the house as quickly as possible and wrapped a towel around my wet fur, hoping it would dry quickly. I'd have to take care of that nest tomorrow if I didn't want this to happen again or better yet, call someone to do it. Yes, better let the professionals handle this type of thing. After all, they have the training in how to handle these evil creatures. At least, I hope they did.
(optional) what character is this novibat based from? No idea. XD
