Sima's name: Program // Graham Ramund
Gender: Male
Adoptive parent(s): Destro and Zsambix
Why were you sad?
Graham was upset over the loss of his precious necklace. To his not knowing his necklace held an escaped soul inside, he was apprehended by Lycan and his necklace was taken away from him. Upsetting him greatly he tried Invain to cope with the loss of the object that His mother had given him before she passed away. This necklace was a diamond necklace, a crystallized outside and inside was a small ruby. The solidified diamond actually held his mothers soul, bonded to it thanks to the which she made a deal with. With the loss of his precious item, he became sad and refused to eat for days.
How did they cheer you up?
Well it wasn't his parents that cheered him up, is was Alandiel. The contracted slave came back with the shattered pieces of the necklace in his hands, and handed them to Graham. Of course Graham being so upset at the loss of his necklace burst into tears at the mess of his necklace. Alandiel, feeling pitty placed the pieces of the necklace together melted them into place. Zsambix used his water powers to encase it and create a diamond shape, with the help from an unexpected fiend and the flames of hell, they were able to recreate the diamond necklace, inside was not only a ruby but now a small flame, ever flickering like Graham's pride.
Story ||
A small child ran from a dark figure behind him clutching a glowing necklace in his small hands, panicking he tripped over a garbage bag and ran into an unsuspecting Destro. destro grunted and looked to the small child. he was scared, and shaking. destro couldn't help but to pity him. muttering something about naming him graham, he pet the small child on the head, while Zsambix growled in warning.
Zsambix sniffed the shaking child, reaching for his pocket knife, growling he narrowed his eyes at the small pink and blue figure, ready to attack. Destro scurried in front of the orphan, holding out his arms to keep Zsambix away; a brave move for someone as old as Destro. ''Get out of my way.'' Zsambix barked as Destro stood his ground. Destro shook his head and picked up the small and fearful child. ''Zsambix put the knife away, this child is an orphan, like you once were. He needs a home, he's skinny, sick, and running a fever. He isn't a threat to me or the family...'' Zsambix stepped closer and Destro stepped back. ''Now if you love me like you say you do, oh king of being bad, would put the knife down, and leave this child alone and act like the nice parent I'm confident your cape able of being.'' Destro hissed, staring deep into Zsambix's deep blue depths. The sun was starting to set and the air was beginning to chill. Program shook from the cold. Destro clicked his tongue and reached out a hand to Zsambix. Zsambix recoiled like Destro hit him. ''Give me your jacket.'' Destro stated, staring Zsambix down again. Zsambix blinked, taken back by Destro's sudden change in moods. Sighing because he had no choice, Zsambix took off his jacket and handed it to Destro, mumbling about being outdone by a kid.
Destro smiled and pecked Zsambix on the cheek. "Thank you zsam, your so generous." Destro cooed. placing the jacket on program, reduced the shaking, and eased Destro's nerves. Zsambix heard a dumpster fall from behind him, shipping around with a snarl he came face to face with the dead eyes of Alandiel. "What do you want!" Zsambix roared, standing protectively In front of Destro and Program. Alandiel sighed and scratched the brand mark on his shoulder that signified his soul hunting deal with Lycan. "I'm here for the boy." He muttered staring down Zsambix. Destro peeked his head out from behind Zsambix. "Why Alandiel? Graham hasn't done anything wrong." He pleaded, looking from Zsambix to graham and back again. Zsambix was mulling it over. Alandiel reached out a clawed hand to Destro, ensuing a throaty growl from Zsambix. "The boy has something my master wants...... And it's around his neck." Alandiel spoke robotically, as if he's said this line a million times over. Destro clutched the shaking child; staring at Alandiel with fear in his eyes. "What does he have that Lycan wants so badly that he couldn't get his own --- up here to get himself" Destro hissed. Alandiel sighed like he wasn't pleased that this wasn't going too well. "My master wants something back, give it to me or I'll take it by force." Alandiel hissed, his patience running thin. Destro shook his head, and Zsambix brought his pocket knife out.
The ground shook then, as a crack appeared in the alleyways wall. A glow appeared, as the fire encased Lycan stepped out. Alandiel took to one knee bowing his head. "Master, I'm sorry, these mortals were uncooperative I-" Alandiel started. "SILENCE!" Lycan roared, obviously pissed beyond compare. Alandiel stood back up and backed away, showing respect. Zsambix stepped back and to the side, a defensive striking position, and so he could douse Lycan with water if he hurt Destro. Destro held the crying child, as Lycan reached out and hand. "He has something I want." Lycan growled as Destro bit Lycan's hand. Lycan roared as Alandiel launched himself and stood I front of his master, claws outstretched. Zsambix stood in front of Destro and Program, a ball of water in his hand. Lycan chuckled at Destro. "It's been along time since I've been up here Destro, and it seems you and Zsambix never change." Lycan mused, as he brushed Zsambix aside and walked to Destro calmly. Graham couldn't look away from Lycan, it was like his eyes were burning into his skull. "That necklace around your neck has an escaped soul," Lycan started pointing to the glowing blue crystal necklace around Graham's neck. "I'm here to bring it back with me." Lycan finished as Graham gasped. "A..... A sowl?" His mouth formed the words, but they came out jumbled. Lycan nodded, yanking the necklace from the child's neck. Graham cried as Lycan clutched the necklace in his hands, and turned around. Destro ran in front of Lycan, blocking him from the exit. "I won't let you take that from my child Lycan!" Destro cried, as Alandiel attempted to move in font of his master but was blocked by Zsambix.
Lycan looked at Destro's desperate eyes; but the expected pain of guilt never hit him. "If this thing means that much to you, I will send Alandiel up with it once the soul is back in the underworld." Lycan started before glancing at Alandiel. "And you will do this without conflict or fail." Lycan added as Alandiel dipped his head to his master. "As you wish master" Alandiel spoke. The tension eased greatly as Destro relaxed his shoulders and let Lycan pass. "Don't forget." Destro muttered as Lycan chuckled. "i won't." Lycan muttered jumping into the hole in the wall. Alandiel followed closely behind; the ground shook as the hole sealed, leaving no evidence of when they appeared. Destro sighed and sat down with graham, graham was searching the alley, as though Lycan and Alandiel were hiding and waiting to jump out and scare him. No such thing came, and Graham sighed. Destro brushed some pieces of hair out of Graham's face, looking at Zsambix. "We're taking him home." Destro said as Zsambix nodded. Destro didn't bring up the "my child" line from earlier. Graham curled up in Destro's arms and fell asleep. Zsambix sighed and walked Destro home, almost as if he was bored with this day. Destro laid his head on Zsambix's shoulder walking with him silently.
~~
Five long days passed, and still, there was no sign of Alandiel or Lycan. Everyday Graham would crawl out of bed inbetween Zsambix and Destro and wander the premises hoping for some sign of them. Graham was beginning to loose hope, and starting to worry. On the sixth day Graham awoke from his sleep, a thunderous sound booking throughout the house. Excitement raced through him, the sound was familiar, the same sound he heard when Lycan appeared from the underworld. Racing downstairs he met Zsambix at the door talking with a voice laced with venom. Squeezing his way through he poked his head out the door. Alandiel stood there, with more open wounds than Graham rememberd and a small blue fabric bag was in his hand. Graham screamed in excitement and sending Destro down the stairs in a hurry. Destro ran to the door and poked his head out, once again interrupting any hope of conversation between Alandiel and Zsambix. "You have it Andy? Do you have it?" Graham chanted with childlike excitement, bouncing up and down with so much pent up energy. Alandiel glanced down at the child, kneeling down and placing the soft fabric bag in his hands. Graham began to open it when Alandiel spoke. "My master wanted me to bring this back to you. Fortunately we got the soul out; Unfortunately-" Alandiel was cut off when a scream of terror came from Graham.
Graham felt tears pouring down his cheeks. His necklace was far from intact. Shattered into tiny pieces; broken beyond repair. Alandiel grimaced, looking at a glaring Destro. "- my master broke the jewel to get it out...." He finished. "Why.... Why Andy?" Graham cried holding out the bag, but pleading eyes begging him to fix it. Alandiel sighed and scratched the back of his head, he was a soul catcher not a repair man. Zsambix growled then grabbing the bag and walking over to the massive hole in the ground. Sealing the bag he chucked it into the hole. "LYCAN!!" Zsambix roared, making sure to be extremely loud. "Get of your --- and get up here!" Zsambix snarled. The ground shook as the pissed hell guardian came up. Lycan glared at Zsambix as Graham still screamed in sadness. Zsambix grabbed Lycan by the throat and shook him. "Fix that thing dammit l!" Zsambix hissed as Lycan sighed, like he was bored with the conversation already. Alandiel forced Zsambix away from his master, stepping in front of him protectively. Lycan chuckled and brushed himself off. "Alright, fine. Since i know your not going to give it up Zsambix and I owe you for breaking that necklace, I'll fix it". Lycan muttered, distain laced his voice.
Lycan took the fragments and set them on a rock, with the help of Zsambix and Alandiel, Lycan was able to mend the jewel together with heat, cooling, and pressure. Alandiel picked up the necklace, handing it to Graham, the necklace had a small flame inside Graham gasped and looked at Lycan, a large smile appearing on his face. "It's got a fire!" Graham exclaimed running up to the larger sima and embracing him, Zsambix and Alandiel in a hug of thanks. All three were weirded out by it, Lycan the most. Stepping away Lycan nodded to Alandiel and disappeared through the hole he came in. Alandiel looked to the child. "That necklace is special; it will never break so long as this flame is inside it. Cherish it well. " Alandiel spoke as he to left through the hole. The ground shook as the hole sealed. Graham ran up to Destro and hugged him, letting his new father put the necklace around his neck. "Thank you." Graham spoke as he walked inside the house. His new home.
Questions for the family
Why call him Program?
Destro laughed at you, tears in his eyes. Zsambix looked mildly annoyed with your question as Destro composed himself. "This idiot right here." He said pointing at Zsambix. " he's the reason for naming him program" Destro chuckled. "You see it wasn't intentional, Zsambix was asleep and I was lying awake in bed, I had asked Zsambix what we would name our newest child, and he muttered something about program. I argued and argued with him about it finally giving up and going back to bed. I guess the name just stuck, he's often called Program by Zsambix, and no one asks why so your the first, but the rest of us call him Graham." Destro finished patting Zsambix on the shoulder happily.

The same routine was occurring at my old orphanage the day I was adopted. Between 12 and 13 girls stood in line for lunch around noon. Lunch was always some type of sandwich just like dinner was always a soup: it was just how things were. I stepped up to the counter, grabbing a tray and handing it to the lunch lady who provided me with what looked like ham and cheese. I smiled half-heartily and sat down next to some girls talking at a table. It wasn't like I was an outsider at the table: everyone knew everybody and everybody was friends with everybody. Genuine cliches weren't really a thing here, which was pretty good considering at school we all were different but we stuck up for each other. We were surprised to find that after lunch we were to be meeting with a man and his wife. Pretty much everyone was ecstatic. I was too, since we hadn't had a potential adopter since Mary Kate was adopted months ago by that man in a sweater vest. We all cleaned up real nice and threw on our best dresses. There were girls of every race lined up to be chosen. We all wore pretty lace stalkings, black flats and blue dresses with bows.
When the couple walked in they were everything we had ever dreamed of. They seemed to be the perfect couple: happy, classy, and just normal. Most of us had been stuck here since we were one or two months old and we had dreamed since we were able to comprehend of the day we'd leave. It wasn't like we were treated badly it's just the Christmas movies they played here were exactly kids in orphanages, they were families sitting around a fire or brothers and sisters singing carols on their porches. We all just wanted that for ourselves, it may have been greedy of us but we wanted more out of life than just content-ness. So, there we stood, watching the couple with eager eyes. We all knew how it went. They'd interview each kid for a bit and whoever they liked best would hitch a ride home in what I was positive was an amazing sports car or something. Whatever it was we were all sure we wanted to take a drive in it. So each of us awaited our chance, watching each girl before us go into a small office. As the line dwindled it's way down to me, I bounced on the balls of my feet. When the manager let out little Caroline she motioned to me and I walked swiftly into the room.
I was nervous. The couple helped melt my nerves with their smiles, they gave off some sort of home-y glow. They comforted me with their fancy clothes and bright eyes. They were newly weds. I could tell because they weren't bickering and the guy's arm was draped over the girl, his other hand holding gently onto hers. On both their hands their wedding rings were present. For a moment I wondered how often they wore each other's rings- if the man had to take his off to do his work or if she took hers off when cleaning or driving. For a while they asked me basic questions: What are your goals for the future? to graduate with a degree in law Wow! What's your favorite subject in school now? English How long have you been here? 13 years Haha, I'm sure you're ready to get out, huh? Do you like animals, siblings, anything of that sort? Of course! I love animals and would be honored to have siblings! Awh! Where do you see yourself in view years, Josie? ...with you, comfortable- somewhere I can relax and watch tv and just watch Christmas movies happily with my perfect family. I laughed a little, wondering if I sounded desperate or sad. I didn't want to seem miserable. When the interview was over we all returned to our rooms, we shared with one or two other girls. I was roomed with Grace and Tracie, whom I was pretty close to considering I'd been rooming with them for almost three-ish months.
"Gah! What did you guys think- I thought they were adorable with their rings and just AWH!" Grace chided from the window. She gently cracked the window, waving at the merchants below. I laughed in unison with Tracie. "Yes! I think they'll pick Caroline, she's the youngest. They always pick the cutest." I nodded, "Yeah pretty much, the older kids have more maturity and they want that whole 'youngest child' thing." Of course as soon as we got comfortable, the dinner bell sounded and we all treaded down the stair case, everyone filing into the kitchen. Again I waited in line. Got food. Sat down. This time around it was normal. The same way it was except the room buzzed with the after taste of the couple. Everyone was hoping to be the one, but me, I just listened. I dreamed but I was afraid to get my hopes up. I learned that if you get your hopes up too much, they're torn away.

Last time a man arrived at the orphanage. I loved him. He was crazy! He had shown up in sweater vest with khakis and blue socks. I didn't feel comfortable around him, I felt silly. The man was crazy and so humorous. I laughed after everything he said. His name was Jason, and he worked at a school down the road. Of course it wasn't one we attended but he was science teacher and he had that loving vibe about him. We all wanted to go home with him. Some just thought he was too crazy to be in a home with. Most of us thought he'd blow up whichever kid got to go home with him. But the three nights in between his first visit and his decision I lay in my laughing at his jokes over and over again. However, it didn't really matter what I thought, he was the one who would have to raise the child he picked and four year old Mary Kate trumped 12 year old Josie. I didn't hold a grudge against Mary Kate, we had been pretty close friends, but then again I was close friends with everyone so it wouldn't have made it difference had it been Grace going. I was upset though, not that I let anyone know. It wasn't polite to be jealous or upset so I worked through it on my own and I was fine, I just didn't like to have too high of standards because then you're never really disappointed.
I lay in my sheets thinking about the ring and Christmas movies and having a real family, not that my current one was half bad. We all just wanted to belong to someone, it was in our bones to want that affection to hear every night 'I love you', coming from someone we just clicked with. Someone we could feel just content and happy and if we had night mares to sleep in their king sized bed with. We were lonelier than we liked to admit. Of course we had each other and of course we loved one another but we wanted an adult to take of us and focus only on us. Of course it was selfish and of course we needed more... We were just kids and the people who ran the orphanage expected a lot from the bunch. So instead of staying awake all night, I set and I dreamed that I was taken into a small brick cottage home with a crackling fire place full of flames, a pine Christmas tree, my parents, the family dog and home alone on volume 27 playing on the flat screen above the fireplace. It was a bit of a stretch from reality, but the temporary home was welcomed into my head until dawn.
Early morning we woke, as we always did, at 6:30. Everyone took showers, got dressed, and went downstairs to join whoever was down there and ate for breakfast. Breakfast was always basically a free for all. Sausage, eggs, bacon, fried something, toast take whatever you pleased. An announcement came on over the air, it was dead silent as the person announced that the couple would be back today to pick up their desired child. That was when the room burst into chaos, into who do you think it'll bes and most of all, girly excitement. I knew it would be Caroline. She was the youngest, the cutest, everything that couple should want. So every girl packed their bags, everyone but me, of course I threw a few things into a suitcase, because, hey, I figured a little hope wouldn't hurt. So we skipped down the stairs in our dresses, happy, regardless of who would be chosen we were happy for them. So we crowed outside the office door, knowing only one girl would be called into the room.
"Girls! Girls, please, back away from the office doors," the manager shouted above our excitement. "Please allow for Josie to get through!" At first the words didn't hit me, too much adrenaline ran through my blood for me to comprehend what words were being spoken. Of course her mouth moved, but I didn't realize until the girls began to push my forward yelling about how happy they were or congratulations at me. Once I made it into the office, the door was shut behind me, leaving the happiness and excitement behind. I felt awkward standing there but the couple looking at me with such amusement made me grin. They proudly stated, "Josie, will you join our family and become Josie Stephan?" I nodded eagerly and they opened their arms. For a moment I felt like a dog being taken out of the pound. I ran into their arms and they hugged me back, their arms giving me such support and I realized in that moment how much happier I felt, less alone. I basked in the love in the room. Even the manager looked at me proudly. "Sweetie, you should go grab your stuff, maybe?" the woman said, breaking the embrace. I grinned and ran out the office doors, high fiving and yelling back at girls who screamed with joy for me. They made way and at the top of the stairs Grace and Tracie waited with a full suitcase. Grace was crying and Tracie was smiling at me broadly. We all screeched and jumped around before Grace handed me my suitcase and both left me in a long embrace before I descended down the stairs, saying goodbye to all my friends, and in that short time frame I was sad to go, but then at the bottom of the stairs stood my new life.
The man was Asher, the woman and him left each other much later in the relationship, but I stayed with him until he found and married his new wife, Tina. I lived with them. I loved them both and I still remembered that day like nothing else had happened in my life until then. I had a sister. Asher and Tina had a baby and I loved her so much! She was adorable and when Christmas came around we were sure to spoil her and I didn't mind, in fact, despite it being my first family Christmas, I didn't want much, but we did watch Home Alone and I enjoyed every moment of it, snuggled under a blanket my little sister on Tina's lap and me leaning into the side of Asher. I felt perfect and belonging and I loved every moment of it and I didn't even make it to the end of the movie, I fell asleep right after the main character wished for his family back, and I was feeling so, so peaceful.
