Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

I am claiming my Baltic Husky!full name;; The Song Of Captivity
call name;; Ooda. (Ooh-duh)
tasks;;
Task 1 - Welcoming your new dog home - Complete
I glanced in the back seat of my truck, worried about the new rescue I was bringing in. After my success with Pompeii, I had made my decision to try again, and pray for the same luck. My new girl was a soft silvery grey with frost like white creeping up her belly, legs and muzzle. She cowered in the back of her crate, shivering. I rubbed Vasht's ear as he whined comfortingly. "Don't worry boy, she'll warm up to us. It's you and Pompeii's job to make her feel welcome, Doctor, Vulcan, Martha and Blush are all to excitable." I had chosen Vasht to come with me to get Ooda, which is what I had named the poor girl, because, not only was he one of the calmest, he seemed to have the most calming presence of all my dogs. He poked his head around the passenger seat and woofed softly to Ooda, who snarled at him in return. If dogs can roll their eyes, I swear Vasht did. "She'll get over it." I promised, more to myself than to the dog as we pulled into my driveway. I stopped the car and leaned over to let Vasht out before getting out and opening the door to the back seat. Soda growled at me, but I carried her cage out of the car and into the house, Vasht and Pompeii close at my heels. My other dogs were in the yard so as to prevent them from scaring Ooda on her first few days. I placed Ooda's crate in the corner of the run I had re-set up from when Pompeii had first arrived and opened the door. As I expected, Ooda didn't make any move to come out. I sighed, closing the gate behind me and beginning to fix dinner. She'd come out eventually, wouldn't she?
Task 2 - Bonding - Complete
I glanced over at Ooda's cage and almost gasped in surprise. her head was out of her cage!! I looked away, forcing myself to calm down. It wouldn't do to scare her. There was a scratch at the back door and I moved to let Vasht and Pompeii in. They slipped past measly, but so did Martha and Vulcan. My astonishment had lessened my attention and they dashed through my feet. I barely prevented Blush and Doctor from getting in, closing the door before turning to catch the pups. They had wriggled under the gate I had set up between the kitchen and the living room to prevent the dogs from getting too near Ooda and were at her cage, paws on the wires and little noses poked through the grid, tails wagging happily. To my surprise, Ooda raised her head and stood, putting a paw out of her crate. I held my breath, terrified that she would lunge angrily at the pups, but instead she hesitantly padded toward the pups, gently licking their noses. The yipped happily, running in little circles before returning to the fence, trying to paw through the grate to touch Ooda. Ooda poked her nose through the bars, but jumped when Martha's paw landed on it. She jumped backwards, tail tucked, but at the sad whines of the pups soon returned. I smiled. Who knew?? Ooda was a puppy lover!
Task 3 - Gaining Confidence - Complete
It was several days after 'The Puppy Incident and I had decided to let Vulcan, the calmer of the two, help me bond with Ooda. I carefully latched all the gates that led to the living room and lifted Vulcan in. Then I opened the gate to Ooda's pen. She didn't seem terribly interested in moving until she saw Vulcan. She came to the gate, poking her nose through and whining. Vulcan bounded over, sipping happily and put his paws up on the fence, touching noses with Ooda. I gave a soft whistle and Vulcan turned his head to look at me. "Come here boy." I said, petting the ground in front of me. He looked back at Ooda and barked before turning and bounding over. I began to roughhouse with his gently, tousling his ears, bopping his nose and gently rolling him over. Generally acting like another puppy would. Ooda whined, pacing inside her cage. She eventually walked over to the gate and poked her head out. Vulcan yipped happily as we played tug of war with a bit of rope. Ooda whined again and Vulcan looked at her, dropping his end of the rope. He barked at her, his tail wagging. She still didn't move any farther. Vulcan trotted over and yipped, cocking his head as if to say, 'What the matter with you?? All the fun's out here!!' Ooda licked his head gently and he shook his ears, pawing at them vigorously before starting back toward me. Ooda whined and Vulcan stopped, looking over his shoulder at her. Ooda hesitantly put a paw out her the fence. I held my breath, waiting to see what the dogs would do. Vulcan yipped happily, starting toward me again. Ooda followed him, her tail tucked but her ears forward. Vulcan snatched up the rope and we began to play again, Ooda watching from nearby. Soon she came closer, eyes fixed on the rope. Suddenly, she left forward, snatching up the middle of the rope and pulling it away, sending Vulcan tumbling and me falling backwards. So looked at us with a cocked ears as if to say, 'What? Isn't that how it's played?' I laughed and reached for the other end of the rope, expecting her to bound away. But she didn't. I grabbed the other end of the rope and pulled a little. Ooda pulled back. I pulled harder. Vulcan left at the rope, but his aim wasn't as good as Ooda's and hi missed, tumbling to the floor again. Soon Ooda, Vulcan and I were roughhousing like old friends, Vulcan teaching Ooda how to play the games she didn't understand and Ooda fussing over Vulcan if she thought he might be hurt. Soon I let Martha in and sat back and watched the three of them play. This was going to work out just fine.
Task 4 - Training - Complete
I had been working with Ooda for over two months now and she had blossomed nicely. She reminded me of a mother hen, always helpful and kind and fussing over everyone. Pompeii and Vasht thought it was ridiculous, but the others loved to. The pups especially, well, they could hardly be called pups anymore, but still. They were especially close to Ooda, having played in instrumental part in her recovery. I had full confidence in my dogs now, letting them mingle how they wished. Today I had decided that it was time to start actual training with Ooda. I had harnessed her several times to get her used to the feel of it, but it was time to teach her the commands. To kill five birds with one stone, I had invited a friend to bring her dogs over, including another rescue named Kodi. I was also starting Vulcan, Martha and Vulcan's brother Ace on their training. I had sketched out how I thought was best for the dogs to be arranged, making sure that every dog had an experienced dog next to them and this is what I had come up with. Vasht and Ooda would be the lead dogs, Ashe and Kodi the Swing dogs, Blush, Vulcan, Martha and Pompeii would be Team dogs and Doctor and Ace would be Wheel dogs. It wasn't perfect, but it was as close as we could get. I was going to do a run with them, then my friend would take a turn. I harnessed my dogs up and she harnessed hers and we were ready to go. I climbed aboard and took a deep breath. "Mush!" I called. After a moment of confusion, the dogs sprang forward, loping across the snow. "Good job guys!! Now Gee! Vasht pulled right and Ooda quickly followed, pulling the team behind them. "Good!!!" I called. After letting them run for a bit, I called, "Haw!!" Vasht gently nudged Ooda's neck the she immediately swung left, the team following. I ran them through the commands several more times, the newer dogs quickly picking up the meanings before stopping the sled. I got off, grinning. They made a great team.
Task 5 - Your choice [optional] - Incomplete
[your task 5 goes here]
What is that? Are all my BH names Doctor Who themed you ask?? What ever gave you that idea??
That means that, yes, they are.
