I am claiming my Baltic Husky!full name;; The Lost Hero
call name;; Song
tasks;;
Task 1 - Welcoming your new dog home - Incomplete/Complete
With a grin on my face, I open the latches on the large vet carrier that sat in my living room. I knew the dog would be hesitant about me at first, and it would take some time before he could trust me, but the butterflies flittering in the stomach attested to just how much I wanted to work with this dog. I waited a moment before slowly swinging the metal door open, and stepped back to allow the canine to walk out. I had put up several baby gates so that he was confined to just two dog-proofed rooms while he got accustomed to his new way of living. I could hear a low whine from within the dark depths of the plastic carrier, but ever so slightly the husky moved inside, crawling out on his belly into the light, tail tucked tightly between his legs, ears pressed to his head so that it almost appeared he didn't have any, and eyes wide and terrified about this whole ordeal. I slowly sat back, making sure I didn't look like a threat and loosening my muscles to appear relaxed. "Hello, little one." I greet softly, and the dog's tail wags slightly, obviously happy to hear a kind voice. "Welcome to your new home."
Task 2 - Bonding - Incomplete/Complete
After leaving the dog alone to eat, sleep, and relax for a day, I decided it was time that he got used to me. I was his new owner, afterall, and it was important that he could trust me. I step over one of the gates, nearly catching my foot and falling due to the fact that I was rather short, and stood for a moment, regaining my balance. The dog, Song, as I had named him, looked at me distrustfully, though didn't make a move to run off and hide like he had whenever I had talked past either room the previous two days. "Good morning, Mr. Grumps!" I sing affectionately, obviously in a very good mood. This got a small snort as the dog breathed heavily from his nose, likely in annoyance from my cheerful nature. I crack a smile and sit down on the hardwood floor, crossing my legs into a pretzel. "You'll learn to to deal with it." I say to the dog, referring to my happy mood. He seems to relax, getting up from his sitting position to move around me some, snuffling at an area close to my pocket but still far enough away that I couldn't touch him if I had outstretched my arm. "Ah, you smell the treats." I acknowledge, pulling one out of it's resting place and setting it on the floor closer to me so that he would have to approach. After a moment of deliberation, he seemed to decide that the tasty morsel was too good to pass up and takes a step, stretching out his neck in an attempt to grab it without having to be too close. Unable to do this, he takes a few more steps and eventually is able to lick it up with his tongue. I did this several more times until the dog was about a foot from me, and though he eyes me warily he made no attempt to run away. Food really was a great way to gain a dog's trust. He sits down, looks at me expectantly, as though wanting even more food. I held one out in my hand, willing him to trust me. He gingerly pulled his lips from his teeth and took the treat, instantly pulling back and swallowing it. "Okay, I think that's enough treats." I say, a small laugh following. I reach behind me, pulling out a rubber dinosaur squeaky toy and placing it on the ground nearer the canine. I poked the toy, and it make a small squeaking noise, which instantly grabbed the dog's attention. In one quick, fluid motion he bowed, grabbing the toy in his mouth and bounding off, the object's screeching filling the air. The dog prances back to me, dropping the toy in my lap and standing back. "What a gentleman." I comment, surprised at the dog's nature. I wouldn't expect any dog, especially one from a background such as his, to give up a toy without a fight. I throw the toy, and it went over the gate, much to my irritation. However, Song simple took off, nimbly leaping over the barrier and returning a few moments later, toy in mouth, and tail whipping back and forth in a grey and white blur. I take the toy from the dog and set it up on the table, holding my hand out. The dog licks it and shoves his muzzle underneath, begging for attention. I happily oblige, scratching behind his ears into he was asleep by my side. He seemed content, and seemed to know that I wasn't about to harm him. Dogs seemed to be so easy to forgive the human race.

good afternoon everyone! I apologize for the delay on this adopt.
with baltic huskies being reopened, I have spoke to CS oekaki staff about these competitions and what to do with them! all unjudged dogs will be transferred over to new lines, and their competitions extended! this being said:
this dog is being temporarily revoked and placed on hold so that they can be transferred for free to the new lines. anyone who was entered in a competition for this dog will still be honored and have their forms automatically counted in the new competition, and will be welcome to edit+add to their forms if they wish!
for dogs that have competitions that will be impossible to judge by someone else other than the artist (such as a guess the genotype), these competitions will be converted into raffles so that everyone who entered will get a chance.
thank you for being patient, we greatly appreciate it! if anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me!
